I was old enough to remember what Liverpool was like in the early eighties. The city was trying to cope with mass unemployment and seeing the slow painful death of a port made famous by the slave trade. The riots that took place in Toxteth in 1981 had made national news, and yet it hardly registered here as the whole city was in such a state of rapid decline that a few buildings gutted by fire hardly registered.

Ok... so I'm 18 years old, and I grew up with Thomas The Tank Engine on the television.
I still love Thomas now (not the new episodes, they are rubbish, why they brought it loads of new characters and ruined the show... I will never know!) I had some friends over a few nights back, and what was kind of embarassing was that they found my Thomas and Friends dvd collection while we were looking for a movie to watch! (I have all of the seasons that have been released, 7 so far!) They have teased me about it non-stop since the party, but I don't really care... After the man about the house series were drip fed to us over the last couple of years i eagerly awaited this spin off " robins nest" having remembered it from childhood. Was not disappointed, this has aged well and every character is strong and relevant. Very funny and worth getting, have to agree with previous reviewer, this could hold it's own on todays tv.

Thomas & Friends has put out their best DVD ever and this is it!This is also the first DVD of their 7th season. Included here are: Three Cheers For Thomas, Percy Gets It Right, Edward's Brass Band, James & the Queen of Sodor, Toby's Windmill, Bad Day at Castle Loch, Snow Engine, and Emily's New Coaches. My top 3 favorites are: Bad Day at Castle Loch, Snow Engine, and James & the Queen of Sodor. Bought this for my 3 year old son by mistake thinking it was the Old Thomas. However, he loved it more than any of his other Thomas DVD and now it's the one he asks for every day. The stories are great and the music is brilliant. Highly recommended.

Unlike the previous reviewer that I believe was speaking of another film this one is a funny title about the a new night club manager who, on his first night, discovers that there has been a huge mistake; the orange lodge and knights of st colombus have been booked in together. Not wishing to offend either he invites both to enter. What ensues is one of the funniest hogmanay parties in years with both sides continually fighting with each other. However the plot has a more serious darker side to it aswell, the night club is run by gangsters and there are numerous incidents and references to the paramilitary organisations (although these are never actually named). this is the first dvd release 4 the 6th series. Already, this series is lacking the x factor of series 2 and 5, but is a solid start to a new series. The best stories here are THE FOGMAN and GORDEN TAKES A TUMBLE. Not sure about the new characters, id prefer to c more of classic engines.

I've found that kids always enjot new characters. That's what makes this video so good! Introducing Oliver, Toad and Bulgy the grumpy bus, who get into scrapes yet always make friends by the end of the day. Laughter and suspence from start to end, this is another great video for kids of all ages!
