'Juno' manages to achieve exactly what it set out to be, a feel good, inoffensive, funny film. It manages to mix hilarious, laugh out loud moments, with more poignant moments and Ellen Page has an ability to deliver dialogue in a way that will make you smile even before the punchline. The first half is the funniest, where as the second half becomes a touch more serious as it resolves the issue of the film, Juno's teenage pregnancy. The soundtrack is great (so much so I bought it) and compliments the various scenes perfectly. I didn't expect to enjoy this quite as much as I did and for that reason alone it was a happy surprise. This film is brilliant, hilarious from start to finish with only a dip in the comedy for a slight serious tone toward the end. An excellent film that will have you laughing from start to finish, with good re-watch value as some jokes take a couple of watches to really sink in, generally at how ridiculous the boys situation becomes. Really not to be taken too seriously so if you're up for something fun to watch with little in the way of complex story line, Superbad's your man.

I picked this up cheap, but not as cheaply as on here! Now the first half an hour or so was very funny, even had me in tears at one point! Around the time the police show up though, the pace seems to slow somewhat and the story becomes a bit more predictable. In all, its still a watchable and enjoyable film, its just a shame that they couldn't carry the momentum from the beginning all the way through.

Just goes to show how idiosyncratic humor preferences can be. I watched the first episode and kept waiting for something that could be called humorous to happen. Thought maybe they had a poor start and gave episode 2 a try. I shut it off after 10 minutes. Nothing even remotely funny in my opinion. Makes all the rave reviews even more baffling. To me, it's pretty obvious that the show sucks. Go figure! Anyway, I'd recommend that you try and get a taste somewhere online, a trailer or something, before spending money on it.

Brilliant comedy film. So many laugh out loud moments. The bit when the cops run because they hear the cops is hilarious!

It has to be said that of the 3 series of Arrested Development this is probably the most erratic in terms of storyline, however if you've read some of the other reviews you'll realise that towards the end of this series both cast and crew knew that this treasure of a show was coming to an abrupt, untimely end. This of course meant that loose ends that had been waiting to be tied up since the beginning, plus much newer story arcs needed to be resolved much quicker than the writers originally planned.
Despite all these circumstances the quality of this series certainly doesn't pale compared to the 2 preceding series. In fact you find the writers using this rather dire situation positively and using it as a basis for much of the jokes. The episode ... Read More: >>More Details |
