I'm not going to say too much to anyone new to this series. I'll just say that this is just some of the most exciting and best written / acted TV that I've ever seen. Just brilliant.

The Shield is the best series that has been...
Having all the previous seasons on Disc I settled in for a weekend watching Season 5 and it was awesome...so why the 1 star...the one star is for Sony shafting us over the season finale.
We loyal fans (and pocket fillers of Sony)deserve better than this.
They have left us short on this one..

...Oh, you thought that was The Wire? Th Shield is much better. Everything here is driven by character - and these are some of the most fascinating, flawed, complex characters to be found anywhere in fiction. There are none of the archly winsome performances and "writerly" dialogue and scene juxtapositions that in The Wire keep reminding you that you're watching a work of fiction. The Shield sucks you right in. Start at the beginning and you're in for a visceral experience that is the nearest TV drama has got to Shakespearean tragedy.

In my opinion there are only 3 television shows which are better than The Shield. However Season 4 of The Shield in my opinion is the greatest single series of any TV show ever.
The storyline is one of the most gripping i have ever experienced and im not going to go into details for fear of people reading this that have still to see it.
The acting has always been of the highest order in this show but with the introduction of Anthony Anderson as Antwon Mitchell and Glenn Close as new Farmington captain Monica Rawlings it actually manages to surpass previous series of the show.
If your a fan of The Shield and have watched the first three series then this will not disappoint you.
It's unfortunate that I am writing this review so soon after having watched the second series of The Wire since any comparison between The Shield and The Wire is bound to be detrimental to the former.
Certainly the early episodes of this series are some of the best of The Shield so far. Politics and the money train robbery cause heightened tension within the barn and the arrival of the decoy team only makes matters worse. But as things progress the series starts to fall apart and reverts to the bad old days of series one.
One of the problems with the series is that it tries to deal with difficult subject matter but does so in a such an incompetent manner. When Aceveda is raped at gunpoint he (unsurprisingly) suffers psychological ... Read More:

After watching the first season of the shield and feeling tired due to the insane speed of the plot. Imagine my surprise when i find that the second season maintains if not ups the break neck pace. Again, stellar performances from the main cast, most notably Mackey(Chikliss) and Wymms(CCH Pounder) The season has it's twists and turns but is, ultimately, more of the same from season 1. All round excellent, action-packed and heart pounding action. Ace !

This film is absolute rubbish - badly made, a terrible storyline, cringeworthy at times.
And I write as someone that enjoyed the first Fantastic Four film and I have watched it 3 or 4 times (I'd give that one 4 stars for entertainment value - fun and easy on the brain).
In contrast, this second film is a mess - even down to one of the worst Stan Lee appearances.
I only wish Galactus had devoured this film - be warned!

This film starts off and runs at around a million miles an hour and as a viewer you simply sit back and admire the pace at which the story takes off at once the main character played by Shia LeBouef who plays an excellent part. The film asks you to think about what could potentially be causing and helping the main characters.
Once you find out what it is, the storyline is very similar to A.I. I think the film does just about enough to allow you to forgive this shift into science fiction.
One of the bad things about the film is how much trouble the computer causes and how easy it eventually is for the main character to simply walk down a ramp and smash it up! A very good ending makes up for any dissatisfaction in how the story pans out, and ... Read More:
