As you can tell from the other people's reviews this movie is brilliant!! But what is not said (at least I don't think so! I didd'nt read all 100+ reviews!) is the picture quality! i'm using a Toshiba 47" 1080i LCD HDTV with a PlayStation3 with HDMI connection. For a DVD it's got AMAZING detail! I'm surprised they managed to fit this 3 hour film with this quality onto a DVD!! I have a collection of around 500 DVDs & this must be in the top 5 of best picture quality in my selection! Buy it! you won't regret it! (or wait for the Blu-ray) >>More Details |

If you liked that movie you'll love the brainless gung-ho mess that is Armageddon. An unbelievably stupid movie. By the end I was actually hoping the comet would succeed in wiping everything out. That would have been the best way to end this.

Brother Bear is a wonderful animation - it isn't violent and it has the right balance between comedy and drama. The storyline is engaging and the characters and some of the cameos in this film are hysterical. This is a film for all the family and it is a truly wonderful children's animation combined with Phil Collins' musicianship that brings the film to life. Highly enjoyable.

To be honest I have seen clips of Will Ferrell's films and thought they looked a bit rubbish so I never gave it any of them a chance, I'd never even heard of this one until oct 08, a mate of mine who's a complete film buff told me about it, said it was one of the funniest films he's seen. Coming from him thats a bold statement. I gave it a go not knowing anything about it and cried with laughter through nearly the entire film, I've since got Anchorman and a few other of his films (Anchorman is Quality!) and cant wait to watch them. 10/10.

This review covers the two-disc special edition which lasts about three hours. The first disc is rated 18, the second 12, but do not be misled, I found the emotional impact of the second is as great as the first, and not for the deaths to come. I understand the negative reviews that some have given this movie. I was quite prepared to give it a one star rating after about the first 15 slow minutes. But I watched the whole thing. And gave it five stars.
It is hard to sum the film up without making it seem a silly, shallow fable. And that would be wrong as this film is a tragedy above all. It manages to do miracles akin to sheer magic without letting it get out of control, or fall into the 'let's rub the magic lamp and the genie will fix it' easy approach. It ... Combine some of the worst acting you have ever seen, with a lame script; and the poorest slapstick comedy, and you have Air Buddies. It really is lazy, low budget film making. But the puppies are cute and that will hold the attention of young kids regardless of the quality of the actual film !

This film is really really good, namely because of its message, how love innocence, trust, faith, courage are a much more powerful force than most adults realise, this film holds the message of honoring the wisdom and Spirit inherant in all children, in the bible it says " ye must become like little children to enter the kingdom of heaven," which i believe is a direction to honor the child like ability to believe to trust and to unconditionally love with courage and innocence, this film is an empowering film for children and highly enjoyable for the whole family, it affirms and recognises the great wisdom and power we can find in our children , and how sometimes the great mysteries of life can so profoundly be understood by children, yet completely missed by adults.
