If I were reviewing the show itself, I would give this 4 or 5 stars. However, what disappointed me was the absence of subtitles on this release of the show. Maybe it's just my TV, but sometimes the dialogue is diffiulct to hear, especially in scenes where there is a lot of background noise. This means I have to strain to capture all the words and nuances, rather than being able to sit back and enjoy the narrative as it develops. Moreover, the choice to release it withour subtitles obviously makes it pretty much impossible for anyone hearing-impaired to enjoy. A rather cheap, cost-cutting ommision from Showtime, whose boxsets are usually excellent...

If you liek the fast and the furious youll proabably get some form of a kick out of the sequel, VIn diesel isnt in it though so if your expecting more toretto action youll be sadly dissapointed.
The second installment of the fast and the furious trilogy is the weakest in my opinion, the story is pretty weak and it moves away from the street racing to more under cover work of paul walkers character. It is however still good fun to watch the cars are just as fast and although it fall short in the story department who cares! you dont watch this sort of film to be intellectually challenged!
I really liked season 1 so decided to buy season 2. Its good, but not as good as 1. Sleeper Cell is like 24 but more character-driven than plot-driven, more gritty but perhaps not as slick. What I like about Sleeper Cell (particularly the 1st season) is that it often tries to differentiate between extremism and what The Quran or Islam actually says about issues. For anyone knowledgeable about the differences you will know what I mean. What I dislike about Sleeper Cell is the unecessary nudity/sex scenes. Sometimes you feel its just added for the shock/sensationalist value, not for storytelling reasons, which is quite common in programming these days. Overall, Sleeper Cell Season 2 is worth a watch if you really liked season 1.

Aggressive & abrasive, with an excellent central performance from DMX.
Much more rounded & deeper, than say, Exit Wounds.
This is a serious, hard hitting movie with some disturbing scenes. There's some strong drug use/sexual scenes & graphic violence.
It's very reminiscent of Training Day in its look, tone & the central character of King David (DMX) has many parallel's to Denzel Washington's iconic Alonzo. If anything, King David is even more repellant with an appalling attitude to women - one of these unfortunate souls being the absoluteley delectable Jennifer Sky.
It's not action packed, but as in Training Day, the shootouts are short & sharp & bloody (in one scene VERY bloody).

I loved the first "Barbershop" but to me the sequel has a lot more in depth with its characters and we learn a little more about each one and how they have improved since the first film. If "Back in Business" has any flaws, it's that there is not enough action inside the barbershop, where most of the action took place in the first film. The movie is a bit of a repeat of the first movie (the barbershop is threatened by closure, this time by competition). There is a little more drama with "Back in Business" that never slows the film down; a little drama never hurt anyone, did it? Either way, I did thoroughly enjoy it because it sprinkles some soul-pleasing themes about community, loyalty, and ethnic harmony.
Listen, I'am a grown man.
If you were to tell me that i would be deeply touched by a period romantic drama, set in rural USA, i would not believe you.
But this film had me moved.
The story is simple enough, and yet that is what carries and makes this film so strong,it tells the story of a woman who eventualy is able to make her own choices and be with the person she wants to be with even though others disagree with her choice, where this takes her will unravel throughout the film ......I can't say anymore.....
But i had to add it to my collection.

Ice Cube's latest flick Barbershop acts as a commentary on the value of history in a community and that it takes people who care to make a community work. To do this, the movie spends a day in the life of the small barber shop, set in Chicago. The central conflict is Ice Cube, despite his better judgement, sells the shop to a loan shark because he has tried several get-rich-quick schemes which, unsurprisingly, has failed to pay off.
At the beginning of the movie we see Ice Cube trying to work on his recording studio, which is a long way from being operational. Ice Cube gets so caught up in this current project, of which there have been many precedents, that when the offer comes to sell the shop he jumps at it. The loanshark then tells him that, while ...
