...Oh, you thought that was The Wire? Th Shield is much better. Everything here is driven by character - and these are some of the most fascinating, flawed, complex characters to be found anywhere in fiction. There are none of the archly winsome performances and "writerly" dialogue and scene juxtapositions that in The Wire keep reminding you that you're watching a work of fiction. The Shield sucks you right in. Start at the beginning and you're in for a visceral experience that is the nearest TV drama has got to Shakespearean tragedy.

After watching the first season of the shield and feeling tired due to the insane speed of the plot. Imagine my surprise when i find that the second season maintains if not ups the break neck pace. Again, stellar performances from the main cast, most notably Mackey(Chikliss) and Wymms(CCH Pounder) The season has it's twists and turns but is, ultimately, more of the same from season 1. All round excellent, action-packed and heart pounding action. Ace !

I bought this because of previous reviews. The story is predictable but none the worse for that. Reeves is always good value and his character is a decent enough chap (playing a similar role to that he made his own in 'Point Break'). The swearing means it will not be ok for the family to watch, not under twelves certainly. The soundtrack is really excellent and the quality of the DVD is fairly remarkable too. The football footage is beautiful. Some smiles and a few laughs too. Another one to keep and revisit. 7/10

Very good action but a very poor movie. DMX was so much better in Exit Wounds. Romeo Must Die is soooo much better in every department except for the lap dance/striptease.

Ok- so it was not stunning, as implied with the previous review- but I don't think it was that bad.
It's a cute little love story with some funny moments. You know the kind of film you watch when you're bored, have nothing to do or when you're ironing clothes. The story is based on that whole 'man wants woman- woman doesn't' and events happen to bring them together. An alright movie- but I really wouldn't go out and buy it myself. >>More Details |

First off, this is another great season of a great show. If you're thinking of getting this, you've presumably seen the previous seasons - so buy it, rent it, enjoy it. Just don't read all of these reviews, unless you want the finale spoiled. That's all.

I didn't think much of this film before watching it, it looked like a mediocre natural born killers. As I watched it however, i was suprised because love and a.45 is good. It tells the story of a texan white trash couple Watty (Gil Bellows) and Starlene (Renee Zellweger) who have to go on the run after killing 2 cops. They are headed for Mexico, but they face difficulty along the way as their faces are on t.v. Several people are killed during this film, but it's not filled with gore. Yes, there are other films with the same basic plot about 2 lovers on the run etc. but Love and a.45 is worth watching.
