With the current Batman craze because of the Dark Knight, it was time for me to re-visit these movies. For me these are still good, especially the first 2, however not the Dark Knight I am afraid to say. These movies are more like the Comic Book Batman before the Dark Knight re-invention, and do have that more superhero comic book feel with some homage to the TV series. This is even more evident because of the new movies which have a much more sinister and 'real' feel to them. The new movies very much set Batman in a 'real' world setting, makes you feel that maybe this could happen, wheras this series is very much more fantasy, with the feel of Gotham City, the gadgets and the enemies. This is best highlighted with the difference in the Joker ... Read More:

Yep soon they find they are the recently deceased. How will they cope with the situation and where can they find help whim strange people purchase and intend to occupy the house?
The story takes some intriguing turns. And the musing instead of being a background mood helper is actually as important as the other characters in the story. "Day-o, he say day-ay-ay-o."
This film is an excellent candidate for Blu-ray. The Blu-ray version also ... Read More:

Aside from this not being very funny or even mildly interesting the film is a prime example of how certain people - probably members of the male sex, would still like to believe than an old, fat, ugly man can be a 'babe magnet' purely because he has a bid wad (of cash).
At the begining a wheezing, viagra popping Nicholson dates a beautiful girl at least 35 years younger than himself, not because he is interested in a serious relationship, can offer her love, support and affection on an equal footing to her, or, is even vaguely kind in any way but just as a bit of fun in the bedroom. It is so disgusting it doesnt even bear thinking about. Mother Diane Keaton is fashionably cool about finding this balding, sweaty tub of lard waddling about ... Read More:

In Tarantino's third film, Pam Grier stars as Jackie Brown, who is arrested for bringing illegal money into the country which ultimately takes her into a case involving one of her close friends, gun dealer Ordell (Jackson).
Once again covering the crime genre, Tarantino brings the characters and plot to life with cutting edge direction, and specific writing in a great portrayal of the crime world.
A lot of crime films focus upon action and car chases at every possible opportunity but this crime drama exploits the more specific details of what gun dealers and police are like with the unnecessary action. In admiring the realism of this concept, it does last for the entire film with hardly any action and can trail off waiting for something ... Read More:

When Frank Capra directed It's a Wonderful Life a classic was made and whilst Jack Frost may not be anywhere near to this standard a 3rd generation Capra directs a very enjoyable Christmas fare.Michael Keaton and Kelly Preston shine in this warm hearted tale about young boy whose father is too occupied with hitting the big time rock and roll stage rather than spend time with his kid. However this all changes when the film takes a rather unusual twist(if not totally unbelievable). Nevertheless, the storyline has a warm Dickens type feel good factor and an underlying message for ignoring father's.Michael Keaton is polished in his role as the father of Charlie and Kelly Preston shines as his mother in a spoof snowman tale that is bound to go down well with the kids (guaranteed)The ... I was a little worried as i'm a blackandwhitefilmophobe but, this fim is marvelous.
Compared to films like Serpico, Taxi Driver, The Warriors that show New York on the 1970's as a cess pit this shows 70's New York through Woody Allen's eyes and what a place it is.
Batman has always been a vastly over-rated movie and I find it difficult to understand how it garnered such positive reviews on it's release . Having watched this recently on TV it seems like a good time to look again at this disappointing film.
It has many flaws but chief among these is the casting of 80's "it girl" Kim Basinger. She almost single handedly ruins this film with her unbelievably poor performance, coming across like some am dram second rater. Michael Keaton does some of his best work but is scuppered in the Batman role by a Batsuit which allows extremely limited movement of body and none of neck whatsoever. He walks around like he has a washboard stuck up his back, completely not his fault I understand. Jack Nicholson's Joker is dressed in cheap looking party costumes ... Read More:

This movie was incredibly entertaining. The cast, which included Matt Dillon, Lindsay Lohan, and Michael Keaton (not bad!), were all in top form here; nobody dropped it down a level just because they were working on a Disney movie about a spunky Volkswagon. The plot was interesting, and not overdone, as many family flicks can be. There was plenty of real conflict and real emotion to drive the story. The soundtrack was a lot of fun too. Best of all, they didn't fill the movie with a bunch of cartoonish effects on Herbie's part...they toned down his 'tricks' and made them sparse enough that it was actually cool when you saw them, and not cheesy.

I really can't say enough good things about this film, it's definately one of my all time favourites. Steve Martin plays a great role as George Banks, but the star of the film is without a doubt Martin Short who plays the wedding planner, Frank. The accent cracks me up every time I hear it. This film really is, in my eyes, completely faultless. The funny parts had me laughing out loud, and other parts had me in tears. I think what I love most about this film, is that whilst it has the great comedy element, it still manages to be very believable. I think a lot of fathers with married daughters could watch this and sympathise! Brilliant film, I'd recommend it to anyone!
