Oh, how I agree with Anna-lena Berg! I really love David Suchet as Hercule Poirot, but the new series is not as good as I expected. Third Girl : David Baker should really be the bad guy - I was totally shocked that they changed the story. The same thing with Appointemnt with Death - very dissapointing. Mrs. MacGuinty is ok and Cat among the pidgeons too.

I thought this was a great mini-series. There were a few points where I literally laughed out loud at the antics of the characters. Having not read the book yet, I found one or two little things that I didn't really understand but it didn't spoil the overall enjoyment.
I have nothing bad to say about this. I loved the costumes and settings and intend to watch this many more times in the future. It is also the reason I have bought the book, which otherwise, I probably wouldn't have bothered with.

There are times in life when you need things to be simple. To find pleasure in simple things, to watch life bloom in surprising ways and relax in the company of friends. That is what this film is about.
The cast are all old friends of ours, who help us breifly to forget our troubles, by showing us the restorative value in watching nature grow.
The perfomances are understated, there are no great lines delivered, no dramatic intensity. It is the clever use of flowers and plants that puts life into the story.
I recommend you watch this movie whether you are a gardener or not. However save it for when you are feeling low. It is all smiles from start to finish and is sure to cheer you up.
This movie makes me laugh every time I watch it. For anyone who has ever been to the sacred clubbing town that is Ibiza, then you will get a lump in your throat and love in your heart at the tracks that are played. Most awesome is 'Follow Me' by Lange...gives you a serious case of throwing your hands in the air and waving them like you just don't care.
Feel good movie that can be watched time and time again. And just remember, no ugly people, ok!!!

This BBC 2-parter on the life of Lord Byron is simply stunning. Jonny Lee Miller captures the poet perfectly, and the girls are gorgeous. We go from Greece to London to Italy, back to Greece where he dies fighting for freedom. Fantastic. And beautifully shot.

This film does not put a foot wrong: it has a top notch cast, it is beautifully set, shot and edited, and has a script that it is by turns witty, sombre and always intelligent. Natasha Little has never done anything better, and has created a wonderful character in Edith Thompson. It is a thoughtful and very moving film. See it and enjoy!

This British thriller was a great disappointment to me.Having waited for at least three years for it's release after seeing excerpts on various TV movie shows, during it's producion. The film is fast moving with quite a thoughtful story line, but at times moves on too fast and appears disjointed. Bernard Hill's performance is below par, Eddie Izzard's wooden, but Stephen Mackintosh just about comes through with a believable performance. The fault lies with the director Julian Simpson, whose direction is very loose and lets what could of been another British low budget hit, fly out of the window.

What a lovely little movie (and "little" is meant entirely as a compliment!) about the joys and pains of love and family!
Here's a movie that doesn't need any big effects and that still had me pinned to my seat while blinking away the occasional tear...but it leaves you with a smile in the end...
No, the story is not necessarily new but then these are people like you and me facing every day problems and forced to make decisions we can all relate to.
Ioan Gruffudd is at least as talented as he is handsome and the whole cast - including and especially the little boy who plays his son - do a terrific job.
If you have a single romantic bone in your body you will probably enjoy this...but be warned: If you don't have ... Read More:

This was one of the funniest period dramas I have ever seen, with particularly fine comedic performances from Timothy Spall and Nigel Hawthorne. Nigel Hawthorne was perfectly cast as the aristocrat fighting against the signs of old age. Emma Chambers also deserves a mention for a role that is very different to the one she plays in 'The Vicar of Dibley'. Finally, the young couple involved in the "Clandestine Marriage" had good chemistry and made a believable couple. This is certainly a must for Paul Nicholls fans, as it is a role that allows him to show-off his acting ability to the fullest.
