I bought te set in August from amazon.com. We live in Japan which is really slow at showing new programmes from the US and UK and in the summer of they were still showing season 3! We couldn't wait and weren't disappointed. The medical cases as really bizarre and the new situation of House creating a new team is highly entertaining (although Foreman's position is not quite clear and doesn't quite fit the new situation it seems ... and its a bit strange to see Cameron more smiley and jolly). You do lose a bit of fizz towards the end of the series (the new team don't have that snap crackle pop like the old ones). However, the last two episodes are brilliant! It's just a shame the series was so short. The extras on the DVD set are a bit better ... Read More:

I was a latecomer to 'House' but better late than never.

Hugh Laurie plays the miserable yet brilliant Dr. House with some style. You almost forget he is a Brit.

I have watched many hospital dramas - ER, St Elsewhere, Casualty, etc, as there is something uniquely engaging about the medical environment. Those series have been mainly dramas while House is something else. It's a part drama, part sit-com and part geeky medical show.

The basic premise involves patients being admitted to Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital with very mixed symptoms that complicate the medical diagnoses. House uses his talented young medical team to treat the symptoms but the patients usually take a turn for the worse upon treatment ... Read More:

After the triumphant debut of the first season of House, many people believed it couldn't be topped. How wrong they were. Season Two not only shut up all the skeptics, it slapped them for even being doubtful. Season Two not only had the absence of the annoying character of Vogler, it gave us a deeper insight into all the characters. At the end of Season One we were introduced to House's ex Stacy. During Season Two we're given a more complex look on their past and their true relationship. The Stacy/House episodes introduce to the fans a deeper complexity to House and we see a more genuine side, rather than the typically cynical House we're used to.

There is one episode which I found a bit too much and felt it was pushing to be controversial. I ... Read More:

Showed this film and they absolutely loved it. This film is very funny and entertaining but says a lot about brotherhood and friendship. I thought the acting was very credible, although I didn't really rate Taye Diggs in this role.

This is the story of "love 'em and leave 'em" Alfie, an old school womaniser whose whole philosophy on life is that women love a scoundrel. Alfie, played by Jude Law, knows exactly how to manipulate women, all relationships have to adhere to his rules, and he will think nothing of bailing out without even a goodbye as soon as a more tempting lady comes along. He has a kind of semi-permanent girlfriend but she acts as nothing more a port in a storm he returns to when he wants to hang up his flirting boots for the night. She also has a child that Alfie is genuinely fond of, but this still doesn't stop him from misbehaving with the ladies.

Playing the field seems like his whole reason for existing until he embarks on one shenanigan too many, damaging his ... Read More:

Love And Basketball [2000]

starring: Sanaa Lathan, Omar Epps, Glenndon Chatman, Jess Willard, Chris Warren Jr.
directed by: Gina Prince-Bythewood

This is a film that you can watch over and over again. The story is simple and touching. You will fall in love with Q and Monica and feel their love story. The acting is first class and the chemistry between the leads is evident. The whole movie is set to a fantastic soundtrack and I would definitely say that if you're a fan of love story/chick flicks then this movie needs to be in your collection. Buy it you won't regret it.

Juice [1992] (REGION 1) (NTSC)

starring: Omar Epps, Tupac Shakur, Jermaine 'Huggy' Hopkins, Khalil Kain, Cindy Herron
directed by: Ernest R. Dickerson
January 16, 2001

Juice is an excellent movie that I never get tired watching. Guns and respect go hand-in-hand in the ghetto, and "Juice" dares to tell this to a mainstream audience. Although the story is told in a Hollywood manner you never doubt the events that take place haven't happened in reality at some point (except maybe the end). We meet our main characters through a montage which establishes the basic setting of the film. They are four black teenagers who live in Harlem, yet the way in which Dickerson depicts the atmosphere is not Gothic and pessimistic, just realistic.

First there's Q (Epps), a relatively quiet kid who aims to be a professional rap deejay someday, but he seems to be the only one who believes in himself. Then there's Bishop (Shakur), who's short-tempered, ... Read More:

I have seen countless number of vampire movies from my Dad's collection. He
is a great 'Chris Lee' fan. I too love Mr.Lee's films, but, once I saw Gerard Butler, I was bowled over. This is a vampire film with a very nice twist. Chris.Plummer acts as the aged Van Helsing, who has kept the lethal
count's body in his high-security vault. The fun begins from that point. I
will not spoil the movie for new viewers by narrating the whole story in advance. All ye modern-day vampire lovers, take it from me: This is the Best. Better than the 'Blade' flicks and even better than 'John Carpenter's vampires'.

DVD : Higher Learning [1995]

Higher Learning [1995]

starring: Omar Epps, Kristy Swanson, Michael Rapaport, Jennifer Connelly, Ice Cube
directed by: John Singleton
January 06, 2003

Oh dear - John Singleton really has gone out of his way to persuade us all that he's really a glorified Hack since the success of "Boyz n' The Hood". This, his second feature is a case in point - You'd expect an African-American director to imbibe an analysis of racial tensions in US Universities with thought and a fresh outlook... Think again, alas. You'd get a more original opinion if you'd asked Gene Wilder to stop making "Silver Streak" over-and-over again. Singleton has ironically made a more racist retort than somebody like Leni Riefenstahl ever could.

So, the black students are hard-drinking stereotypes who do little (if any) work, whilst the white students are all weedy Aryan Brotherhood autistics who desperately require protection from the black students whilst anger ... Read More:
