So much talk-show television is just voyeurism at its worst but Oprah is consistently different. She aims to make a real human connection with her guests and viewers - not to exploit her interviewees, but to find out how she and we can learn and grow from their experience.
This 6-disc set is an amazing library of the most emotionally intelligent television on the planet. It is a terrific investment. It is life-healing, it will make you laugh, it will make you cry.
Having just watched this dvd last night I agree with all said before. I found this story to be totally captivating. One can only imagine all the pain & suffering endured. It is supremely haunting. In some instances frightening. There is no way in which my review could do this film justice. The acting was excellent. Orah Winfrey's acting is greatly underestimated. Everyone should see this film once even though it will leave you with a feeling of having seen, heard and touched something that should not be seen, felt or touched.

I was flicking on the movie channels and this sounded ok so settled down to watch it. The editing was really bad but the story and acting was excellent. Ellen Barkin was particularly pitiful and Bird just broke my heart. Maybe the editing made Julia Stiles part small but she was more of a support act in this.
