'Rosemary's Baby' is without doubt Roman Polanski's best movie.
Still after fourty years this film scares me. Not in the kind of gruesome (torture-porn) kind of way that the Saw franchise do, but in a deeply psychological way, in the spirit of all the great twentieth century horror films. Rosemary (Mia Farrow) is the young married woman who's just moving into an upstate New York appartment block with her husband, actor Guy (John Cassavetes). The pair soon get to know their neighbours (mainly) Minnie Castevet & her husband Roman Castevet (Sidney Blackmer).
Rosemary's baby is a very scary film, not gruesome (sometimes mildly explicit) but it has that claustrophobic eery feeling & after the first half of the film the feeling that no one can ... Read More:

In terms of picture quality there are some unsatisfactory DVD versions of `His Girl Friday' but there is nothing wrong with this particular item (Columbia Classics CDR 19838). The film remains fresher than many old comedies and stands up to repeated viewings. It is sharply written, briskly directed, superbly cast and well played from top to bottom. Watching this is a great way to stay cheerful on a rainy evening indoors.

Grant hadn't quite polished his craft in `The Awful Truth', but there were few rough edges to knock off. He plays the first scene slightly self-consciously, but things improve thereafter.

Grant and Dunne play a well-to-do married couple who divorce over Grant's groundless suspicion that his wife has deceived him with her handsome Italian singing teacher. Their split is amicable, the only area of dispute being the ownership of `Mr Smith', their pet dog, whose antics add a good deal of comedy to the proceedings.

While waiting 90 days for the finalization of their divorce, Dunne is courted by a wet-behind-the-ears momma's boy, who has several oil wells to his credit, and Grant takes up briefly with a night-club singer, whose act does her no credit ... Read More:

Look at Amazon's description of the whole movie and the other reviewers, I'm going to write about my favourite scenes!

My favourite scene in this movie is the 'golf ball dancing sequence!'
The track is called 'Loch Lomond Swing' - Chapter 5.
I've got this movie as part of The Fred And Ginger collection - volume 1.
About a year ago, my dad told me about this golf ball dancing sequence he'd seen several years ago, probably in 1987 when Fred Astaire died.
My dad really wanted to see this one sequence again, and I was interested to see it too!
I remember believing I'd found it when I first purchase 'Holiday Inn' which had the sequence called 'Puttin on the Ritz' in the special features section, it's on the film called 'Blue Skies' ... Read More:
