This is the best film I've seen this year. I don't usually rate Colin Farrell but he's really good at this. If you like a bit of black comedy then you'll love this.

Although I am not the greatest Harry Potter fan in the world I have always enjoyed the film series and thankfully this film continues this trend. The Order of the Phoenix sees the dark lord Voldemort gathering his forces but with the Ministry of Magic refusing to acknowledge his return Harry and his friends must defy the Ministry in order to prepare for the coming war. Complicating matters is Ms Umbridge, the Ministry appointed Defence from the Dark Arts teacher, who is willing to do anything for the Ministry of Magic.
I haven't read any of the Potter books as yet and as such I cannot comment about how closely this film sticks to the book and I have heard mixed reports on the subject. Nevertheless I do feel that the film fits in very ... Read More:

All of the movies released so far are excellent. I see that other reviewers have covered the story line very well, so I will not. Just let me say that all are very well done, with minor imperfections. The main problems are only two. The first problem is that the books are so massive that pieces have to be left out, this is a shame but I do think that to make a 4 hour movie of these books would make them very tiring to sit through. I had thought of maybe making a part 1 and then 2 but this would not help. This boxed set is the single dvd version of each story, I would prefer the 2 disk versions personally. I have the separately released versions of each movie and am very satisfied with all. The second problem is the acting of the three principals. ... Read More:

I'd been wanting to see this film for ages but never got around to it, i bought it about a week and a half ago, looking at the reverse i was schoked at the fact that it was 3 hours long! I have a really short attention span, and it was also in black and white, which i thought would put me off. Usually i watch films and work through them or talk to friends nose around on teh computer etc but after watching about half an hour of this film i couldn't tear myself away, i completely neglected my laptop for the next two and a half hours! it didn't get boring at all and i didn't even notice it wasn't in black and white. All though we all know of the tragic events of the holocaust watching it unfold in front of you through spielberg's magic doesn't fail to shock and ... How can anyone find this movie funny? Maybe it is OK if you are a big fan of Wallace and Gromit, but if you are used to American movies such as Over the Hedge, it is dull, dull, dull. Nowhere near as good as Over the Hedge or Madagascar.
Everything starts with everyone in the town looking forward to a vegetable competiton, but that all changes when a few rabbits are on the loose, and Wallace is the Were-Rabbit (quite scary for youngsters) believe it or not. The veg competiton then turns into a big battle between Gromit, another dog Phillip, Lady Tottington and the Were-Rabbit (Wallace.) I thought the movie would bew abseloutely fantastic, but I found that I could not get a single laugh out of it. Do not buy, just get the famous Over the Hedge.

Upto now I have quietly enjoyed the first 3 movies although they were nothing special. In previous reviews I gave all of them 3/5 and to be honest up until the final 20 minutes I was about to award the same for 'the Goblet of Fire'. The finale' certainly makes this film and we see Lord Voldermort at his evil best. Actually, it is a darker more absorbing film than the others and carries on in a similar vien to 'The Prisoner of Askaban'. The downside to this film is that it does drag on for a bit but that doesnt really bother you until you watch it again. For your children, they will find this scarier than the others .... but not too scary. Enjoyable for kids, enjoyable for adults.

I love the Harry Potter books and enjoy all the films. The only problem is that as the books are getting longer more & more is getting cut out when they're made into films. I'd rather have this film longer & have all the story in. Still fantastic though!

It is an interesting film, but not more than that. What does it shows? That the English were particularly sectarian during WW2 on the African front. Nothing new under the sun. Anyone who had a slightly different name or a slightly surprising or uncommon attitude was at once considered as a spy unworthy of any trust. This created myriads or even legions of misunderstandings and human errors along with cruelty, barbaric acts, violence, etc. The only interest of this film is the technical brilliance in the use of flashbacks that only happen in the head of this English patient who plays the loss of his memory to protect himself against his own name and his own ascendants. Yet his survival is not possible and the nurse who is looking after him is little by little led to being convinced by him ... Read More:

The Plot
At the tender age of 16, Georgiana Cavendish (Kiera Knightley) is married off to the dark, distant Duke of Devonshire (Ralph Fiennes). To the outside world, Georgina is the darling of London society. But behind the smiles, she hides pain and heartache of a crumbling marriage, due to her inability to bear an heir.
The Review
The perfect replacement for David Tennant in the TARDIS is....Kiera Knightley. Why? Well, she seems to be stuck in the past, with her last three films (I'll just gloss over the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy) have been period pieces, so she could probably do with a time machine to get back to the present day.
However, having Knightley stuck in the past is no bad thing for film fans. As the young Duchess of Devonshire, she ... Read More:

The use of puppets and animation somehow enable a more real character of Jesus to be portrayed without the baggage of actors and sets. It is how I see he would really have related to people.
