Malkovich is once again mesmerising as the tragic but memorable Lennie, a simple minded man born into a cruel world. Senise plays his inseparable buddy and guardian, George, and you feel for him as he struggles hard to cope with looking after the difficult Lennie, mainly because the harsh world doesn't have the time or patience to understand such a man whose behavior can be a little worrying and eccentric. The stretched out wheat fields make a great movie landscape and the mood of the era is quite well defined, it seems. Then you come to the humanity of the famous story, the painful humanity that will not leave you, just as the pain will not leave George, who is forced into making an unenviable decision by circumstances you sort of sense coming. ... ...but they'll have to, or this wouldn't be a very good review.
The previous three seasons of SVU have been great, yes. But season 4 just takes the show to a new level. With 25 episodes this year, instead of previous 22, 23 or 21. Every episode is as good as each other, this DVD is a must buy, trust me!

It's great to have the quality of DVD and the Log Lady Intros, but I noticed a spooky moment with Bob appearing in a rug had been excised, which made me wonder what else has been cut and just why I bothered.

I suspect that Sherilyn Fenn got her break with David Lynch's stunning TV series , Twin Peaks. I certainly developed a crush for her during the series and so, some 20 years, a house a wife and 2 kids later, I thought I'd see what it was about her. Well, she's a platinum blonde in this and, to be honest, her acting isnt that great. However, she has a fragile beauty and a petite figure. The storyline is paper-thin, the soundtrack is a typical mix of sexy(?) sax and B grade rock. It looks pretty good, but the story is trite and the eroticsm by today's standards is very coy. There is swearing which probably denotes its 18 rating rather than anything you might see. Its back to Twin Peaks for me!

directed by: Mike Marvin

I watched this few years ago and enjoyed it and at 21 i still like it and i got in on dvd couple days ago and theres 3 reasons why i like it... 1. car(s)/scenes 2. the girl 3. fan of charlie sheen movies... Theres 2 main factors you gotta look at when watching 80's movies like this one and they are... 1. more likely to be budget movies 2. back then the technology wasnt as good as it is now... I enjoy watching majority of 80's films no matter how crap they may seem, its just personnel taste at the end of the day...

I was meant to title this CD Box-Set `If you want to know how to turn a brilliant series into a piece of rubbish, ask David Lynch', meaning he starts off on a high and ends rather low.

Mind you, the first part of the series is indeed brilliant. CD One contains the Pilot with both the Original Version and the Alternate International Version. Discs two and three contain the seven episodes of the Series One. And these are a solid five stars. I just love the many twists and turns. In the original Series One release we were stuck in the middle of nowhere when Agent Cooper is shot at the end of Episode 7. Its not a surprise everyone was eagerly awaiting the second Series.

The second season I am rather dubious about. In Episodes Eight to 17, Lynch ... Read More:

DVD : Wild At Heart [1991]

Wild At Heart [1991]

starring: Nicolas Cage, Laura Dern, Willem Dafoe, J.E. Freeman, Crispin Glover
directed by: David Lynch
July 07, 2003

It's true to say that Wild At Heart is perhaps one of David Lynch's more-flawed cinematic endeavours, with many of the scenes, and indeed, the film as a whole, seeming incomplete or lacking any real purpose. One criticism of the film that tends to crop up most often is that the whole thing smacks of "weirdness for weirdness sake", with Lynch failing to tie his strange characters and their surreal situations to any kind of real narrative... which, I suppose is true. However, despite these flaws, the film is still a great deal of fun, and although the whole thing is ultimately very silly, it still has enough bizarre high-points, set-pieces, sight-gags and cameos to make the whole thing ultimately worthwhile.

I suppose the film is best described as a vicious black ... Read More:

Funny spoof from Carl Reiner. Different in style and content from his earlier works with Steve Martin (Jerk, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid and The Man With Two Brains). This is much more in the style of Naked Gun, Loaded Weapon and HotShots. For some reason this is nowhere near as famous as the others, but it is just as good and if you like them, then you can't go wrong with this.
Hard to rate this because overall it's only a spoof so not worthy of any special attention, but as far as spoofs go it's one of the better ones! 4/5 if you compare it to other slapstck comedies.

Boxing Helena [1993] (REGION 1) (NTSC)

starring: Julian Sands, Sherilyn Fenn, Bill Paxton, Kurtwood Smith, Art Garfunkel
directed by: Jennifer Chambers Lynch
April 10, 2001

I must admit that I only saw this film due to the hype surrounding it. The idea of some demented doctor hacking off a woman's limbs to use her as a sex object is certainly an interesting one, yet the acting, writing and direction are all far too bad to make this film any cop.

The worst moments are when the film decides to descend into lowbrow farce, such as the infamous scene where Helena contracts diahorreah. The less said about this the better.

All in all though, poor quality throughout leaves this film without a leg to stand on.
