This film has a lot of potential, but fell flat on its face. The cinematography was lovely, but the majority of the characters were shallow and superficial. The character of Vera should have been complex, and it needed a much more experienced and more talented actress to give her justice. Keira Knightley doesn't act, she just says her lines with a silly smirk on her face, giving the audience no insight whatsoever into what she's thinking and feeling, and just left me feeling lost and confused and feeling no sympathy towards her character at all. Dylan Thomas was portrayed to be a horrible and self-centred man and I couldn't understand why both Vera and Caitlin were all over him, while William Killick, the only decent and believable character in the whole ... I watched this film not really knowing what to expect and what I found was a story told with such beauty and sadness it made me want to watch it all over again.
The story of Edie Sedgwick is one of glamour, adventure, excitement, sorrow and eventually demise.
Edie (Sienna Miller) is truly a joy to watch on screen, not only is she beautiful but she is captivating and after watching the documentay of Edie Sedgiwck, the similarities in terms of looks, are uncanny.
This film made me smile and cry within minutes of each other, Edie's story is one of such sadness the film makes you want to reach out and help her but knowing that its too late as the credits roll.

I would defnitely recommend this film, it gives a fantastic insight ... Read More:

This is the story of "love 'em and leave 'em" Alfie, an old school womaniser whose whole philosophy on life is that women love a scoundrel. Alfie, played by Jude Law, knows exactly how to manipulate women, all relationships have to adhere to his rules, and he will think nothing of bailing out without even a goodbye as soon as a more tempting lady comes along. He has a kind of semi-permanent girlfriend but she acts as nothing more a port in a storm he returns to when he wants to hang up his flirting boots for the night. She also has a child that Alfie is genuinely fond of, but this still doesn't stop him from misbehaving with the ladies.

Playing the field seems like his whole reason for existing until he embarks on one shenanigan too many, damaging his friendship ... Read More:

I rented this film expecting from the reviews that it would be mildly diverting. In the event I found it laugh-out-loud funny: I have not laughed so much while watching a film for months if not years. And most of the time I was laughing with the film, not at it.

In more than one way this film was surprisingly similar to a film on the same subject which Bob Hope had made more than fifty years previously (Casanova's Big Night, 1954). In both cases the film is built around the same central joke, that Casanova's mere reputation as a great lover is enough to have every woman in Venice throw herself at him, including those who appear to be extremely respectable and virtuous, with precisely one exception - the woman he wants.

The quality of the acting, ... Read More:

This is a decent enough, easy watch exploring the topic of control and gender in an entertaining fashion, a reworking of the sadly murdered Theo van Gogh film of the same name (Buscemi honours him in the credits and also with the removal van in the early part of the film). The essence of the film is how men, regardless of their own inflated opinions of their intelligence and worldliness, and, despite their better instincts, can't help but be manipulated and wooed by femmes fatales.

There are moments when this film does feel a bit too theatrical, a little over-acted, but overall, its a classic, two people in a room, character based story which underscores Buscemi's ability as a director and actor and actually boosted my opinion of Sienna Miller (albeit coming from a low ... This is program is hard to explain its a drama in places, a comedy in others and a soap in others. Every scene is two couples in bed discusing the events of the day. OK that's a rubbish discription but its hard. I bought the first series noing nothing about it I couldn't get over how good it was. The second is just as good. The dialouge is clever witty and the characters so well defined. Everything you'd want from a half hour of tellevison.
