Another movie that copies Tarantino's style and is a lot better. I was so surprised when I got this film, expecting more or less and average film at best. Lucky No. Slevin is hilarious and full of unexpected plot twists and great ideas. An excellent cast, including Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Ben Kingsley make this film one of the best in recent years.

I've always loved this film, I had it on tape for years. It's a great story, intelligent, with superb acting. Other reviews say it all
What did annoy me was that the DVD is two-sided. You have to watch half the film, then turn the DVD over to watch the other half. This isn't going to be enough to irritate everybody but it really irrited me, and I really wouldn't have bought it if I'd known about the format.
I'm the lazy type who likes to settle down, surrounded by food, and not get up again until the film is finished and there's no food left. Like I said, not going to bother everybody but still worth knowing.

How can I communicate the aberration that this represents?
I hope that a number of you will be repelled simply to hear that the roles of Hermia and Helena are taken (and then forgotten about) by those mascots of "Pretty but Pointless", Calista Flockhart and Anna Friel. Calista Flockhart rides a Penny Farthing bicycle and blows the tumbling tendrils of hair off her forehead regularly - but it gets worse, even when the talent gets more accomplished.
Stanley Tucci would get laughed off a senior school stage for the way that he tries to invest Puck with thoughtfulness and fun: Jimmie Krankee would have done a better job. Rupert Everett's Oberon is reminescent of a Studio 54 Go-Go dancer murmuring something he has a distant memory of, and Kevin ... Read More:

The acting (especially from Lopez) is very wooden. This manages to ruin a reasonable story line and it defeats all attemptes by the supporting cast to keep the story on track. Also, she cannot dance. An incredible piece of casting that destroys the film.

Good films are unforgettable... and here's one. On the surface it's a quirky little story about two Italian brothers running a restaurant in New Jersey in the 1950's. One is ridiculously passionate about cooking superb food while the other tries to make his brother's passion commercially viable despite the fact that customers don't want what he cooks. Both are up against their more successful Italian neighbour who gives the customers exactly what they want. Not much then... but it's what goes on beneath this deceptively simple tale that makes it so good.
The tense, sincere and often very funny interactions between the two brothers are so believable that they make you really want them to succeed with the "Big Night" on which the future of their restaurant ... Read More:

After what was a disapointing 4th series with practically no advancement in the Trudi case it was good to see some mentions of her death again in the first few episodes. Having said that though it appeared that the case still has'nt moved on an inch from where it was left in series 2?
What worries me is that Monk can't last forever as a series, would'nt it be better to rap all this up before it's pushed out unfinished or the main stars get tired and we end up with some sort of bodge together job like the Dukes Of Hazzard turned into or the X Files (i mean, did anyone actually make it to the last series let alone and be interested?)
Anyway, overall it was an excellent series. I laughed a lot, which I think is good but have to say I also think humour was injected ... Read More:

The subject is interesting. The topic is fascinating. The treatment is quite reassuring. But the ideology is hateful. Imagine some natural, geological or cosmic catastrophe meaning the end of the earth, hence of humanity. The loss of the magnetic field of the earth is one possibility since it has been going down for a few decades and no one can explain. If such a phenomenon were truly happening, the normal reaction would be to bring all scientists around the world together to find a solution. There cannot be any moral and acceptable salvation for humanity, or even a little part of humanity if it does not mobilize everyone, every country, every nation. The film is unluckily hijacked by the military that imposes the vision of some aggressive attack from an enemy. They seem to listen ... Read More:
