The original motion picture was a decent attempt at converting star Trek from a dated TV series into a cinematic movie. The story of the first film is a very interesting one and it is well acted, produced and directed. New characters are brought in and old ones retained. The fact that Kirk is much older is delt with much more than in the follow up movies. This film has many good points but is not exciting by any means and is not a film that warrants watching over and over again.

I have always loved this film!! It was the first film Whoopee was the lead in and she certainly is the lead in this film - in fact she makes this film her own and none of the other actors even get a look in.
It is such a funny action packed move from start to finish and it hasn't dated since it first was released back in 1986.
If you like Whoopee or comedy in general then you will really like this film. There isn't a film like it out there today, this is such a gem of a movie that I feel everyone should own this masterpiece. it's like Sister Act in the funny stakes so if that makes you laugh then this will make you laugh harder!!
I have adored this film since I was a young teenager and having just watched it again, I enjoyed it even more. The combination of Deneuve, Bowie, Sarandon and Bauhaus results in an effortlessly charismatic and other-worldly atmosphere, but just as importantly as the horror story it tells, I think this film beautifully brings the 1980s back to life.
Beautiful and odd, perfect in spite of its faults, this is a hugely enjoyable film.

Its what we have all thought of at one time or another, what to do with a serious vault load of cash. On a par with Stir Crazy you get the usual classic Richard Pryor and a reminder of what we lost with the death of John Candy so early in what would have been a lengthy career.

It was many years ago now that i watched Scarlett after reading the book. Of course the books are always better than the films but never the less its a film that follows a great epic and must be seen to Finnish the story of Scarlett and Rhett. I personally liked the book better as it was more in detail but the film covered the plot well. If you have seen gone with the wind then this film is a must for fans as it sees Scarlett and Rhett reunited once more. Scarlett is not made with the same outstanding performances and looks as though it cost a lot less than Gone with the wind. I enjoyed the film but not with the same emotional feelings as the first but still a must to see, to make closure to this great saga.

I didn't think that anything could be better that Woman of Substance, but I was wrong. I loved this, it was a beautiful story and the best thing was Stephen Collins!!!

Drive Me Crazy is a warm-hearted and thoroughly enjoyable piece of fluff in the grand old John Hughes tradition of The Breakfast Club and Pretty In Pink. It upholds many of the conventions of it's predecessors, playing off the jocks against the nerds and painting all the pretty, popular girls in middle American high schools as scheming, conniving, social climbers. As is invariably the case with teen flicks, prom night rears its ugly head. Obviously it would be downright rude not to hint at who's going to be paired off with who, even if Drive Me Crazy does do its hinting with a sledgehammer. But then again, the fun is all in the journey, not the final destination. The main characters are likeable and there are enough witty exchanges to make this film effortlessly watchable. ... Stunning story and cast in this not really known about film that somehow fell through the net? Simple story about a mothers love for her daughter and how that love would give her the strength to deal with whatever comes along. Real tearjerking performance from likes of Bette Midler and John Goodman.

This film never really grabbed me, it's a good little film, but for me that's all.
Good performances by the cast, in particular Colin Farrell in what was only his second film.
There are some funny moments in the film, plus a few tense moments, but there was simply not enough going on for me.
This is purely a film about soldiers in training for Vietnam, there is no "action" in this film, I have to say that I did not realise this until I'd watched the whole film, it deals with the training and personal issues within the group of trainees and their superior officers before going on the Vietnam itself and that's all.
