Sometimes tv series derived by good films are only a pure commercial operation and delude the fans of the original movie. In my opinion, this series is an exception (but not for the mass of Blade fans, whom "delusion" stopped it at first season). Ok, it lacks of Snipes and the rest of the original cast, but the plot is well done (for a 40 minutes show), soundtrack very good and, for a tv-movie, have good photography and action scenes. 4 DVD for less of 20 euros. What else ?

Only got this because it was cheap and I was curious to see how it compares to the (somewhat under-rated) original. Turns out its inferior in every way except for the scenery. The basic problem being the near-complete-absence of the factor that made the original worth watching - the flawed nature of all the protagonists and the consequent tensions between them.
Its as if the makers were terrified that if the central characters were less than heroic (not to mention buff and toned) a modern audience would lose interest. But without that factor its just an exercise in aeronautical engineering, without the drama of seeing a bunch of flawed human beings, who mostly can't stand each other, managing to pull together to survive.

After watching this film it is clear to say that Spike Lee is thee creative genius. His production skills have been exploited superbly to create one of the greatest under achieving films ever. The plot is fantastic and with the level of acting rivalling all other aspects of the film there is no way that anyone with an interest in gang life would not gain something from viewing this film. Without a doubt a great piece of cinematography worth every penny paid for!

Despite what most people thought, I really enjoyed the first House of the Dead so I bought the sequel aswell and I thought it was better than the first.
The story focuses on a group of soldiers led by Alex (Emmanuelle Vaugier) who are sent to infiltate a university complex that has been overun by zombies to find a cure using the blood of the first zombie. Needless to say, most of the soldiers are ripped to shreads by the zombies which have pretty good make-up for a B-movie.
This is a great film to watch if you want to take your brain out for 90 minutes.
