Iv'e given only four stars for this first series as it gets even better each episode upto the last in series 4. I missed a couple when they were first aired so this was ideal - no pun intended, to catch up and remind how it all started. Excellent brave comedy that may not appeal to the masses, e.g. Little Britain - and all credit to the BBC, who else would make a series about a small time drug dealer with weird and wonderful punters, friends and neighbours? If you think Cartoon Head is a bit odd, later series it gets even weirder and totally surreal. Wonderful. If you havn't seen it (not everyone has BBC3) buy it - if you have - buy them all. Excellent.

It`s a shame that this wonderfully-written series seems to have gone unnoticed by many people. "The Smoking Room" is one of my favourite comedy series of recent years and I make a point of lending my DVDs to as many people as possible (hoping that they`ll buy themselves a copy as a result).
From Barry`s crosswords to Len`s swearing this show always makes me laugh like a drain (which is an odd sort of expression, I must admit!)... Anyone who likes quirky British humour with a touch of verbal misunderstanding should do themselves a favour and order the complete set. >>More Details |

This is a brilliant DVD so I had to recommend it to a friend... and she loved it! Someone she watched it actually started humming the mobile ringtone randomly after watching it! Some good plot twists and a must for Jamie Draven (aka Maurice Stone - the Soldier) fans!

I have to agree with the other reviewers, this was by far one of the best original comedy dramas shown on British TV in a long while. Whilst extremely disappointed that they ended after only 3 series it was wise to end on a high!
This is a show full of hilarious and witty script writing, but also has its tender moments to full effect. All the main actresses were perfectly cast as the naughty northern nurses and definitely make the show top draw! >>More Details |

No Angels was an 'unknown' for me when I bought it as I live overseas and never saw the series on television. However, I am really glad that I did buy it. The characters are so likeable and the storylines are always so full of suprises that it's left me waiting impatiently for the next series to become available on DVD.
