I got this film for christmas last year and, as a result i was pleasantly surprised at how different it was to all the other musicals. I first watched it as soon as i got it (for an hour); as it went on i thought how bored i was, i think this was because the story seemed to go on and on etc. I wasn't understanding at all what was happening; i realise that i am younger than most people that watch it ,but all my friends seemed to watch it and agree with my opinion of it. A walk to remember has got to be one of the best teen movies of all time, although I will be very suprised if you won't need a tissue. The story revolves around Landon Carter(Shane West)someone who is going no where fast, the local bad boy. Jamie Sulliven(Mandy Moore)is the minister's daughter and as far from the in-crowd as she could possibly get; especially in contrast to Landon.They have never really got on but when they repeatedly spend time together it alters their lives forever. >>More Details

In The Wedding Planner Jennifer Lopez acts as a woman who sets up weddings for other people but who is very cynical about the ceremony herself (we find out why during the course of the film).She falls in love with Matthew Mcconaughey who is engaged to one of her friends and tries to do the right thing by helping them to get married.The Wedding Planner,itself,tries to be an old-fashioned movie from fifty or so years ago set in modern times.It succeeds in doing this but there are big errors in the script (in one instance the characters are delivered some news that in real life I'm sure would have left people speechless but in the storyline they accept with nonchalance).Nevertheless,Mcconaughey and Lopez are engaging enough to make this a film ... A humorous film that is enjoyable throughout its duration with interesting characters and a lovely location by a beautiful lake. The children of two families compete against one another for the sake of their dads who dislike each other a lot.Eugene Levy and Steve Martin are well-suited to their roles as the bickering dads and the very large supporting cast have enough time on screen and enough to say and do to make their roles have an impact.If you want something that's innoffensive to adults and children and packed with wit then this is a film for you. >>More Details

This is not the sort of movie I go for, but having read a few glowing reviews elsewhere about the film and the quality of picture and sound, and given that it is selling for well under Â£10, I thought I'd try it. If you don't like musicals then its best to avoid, but I don't mind them and hoped this would be entertaining part of the film. From the outset, the movie is crammed with songs, maybe one or two could be better or one or two less for me, and a little more dialogue. I felt it became a bit too broadway,but seeing as this is taken from the stageshow I can see how it's turned out that way. By the end you come away having enjoyed watching it, but its not quite as funny as you originally think. Don't get me wrong its a nice film, and Steve Martin is brilliant, but its the script that lets it down just that little bit.
