Season 4 of The West Wing is incredibly good. The writing is as sharp as ever and the characters are as likeable as ever. This season saw the departure of Rob Lowe but this did not harm the show in any way. There are some great cameos in this one notably from Matthew Perry and Christian Slater. The last few episodes are as good as anything you'll see in any TV show. Brilliantly written and perfectly acted, season 4 is a must see.

Used to watch this all the time when I was a kid - bought it recently and after 5 years of not watching, it was like revisiting an old friend. This is the kind of movie that makes you feel happy for days - essential.

I wasn't lucky enough to catch this series on TV all those years ago and don't ever remember it being repeated. Found it by chance on Amazon and the great reviews made me buy it. It sat on my bookshelf for a couple of weeks until Sunday evening when I watched the first episode.
It got me hooked almost immediately and like the last reviewer I got through the entire 23 episodes in three days. It was totally addictive, like reading a great book you just can't put down - just one more chapter, until before you know it it's 3am and there's work tomorrow.
The show is more than 10 years old now but doesn't seem at all dated.
The photography is amazing, the cast impressive and there are stand-out performances from Daniel ... Read More:

It's great to have the quality of DVD and the Log Lady Intros, but I noticed a spooky moment with Bob appearing in a rug had been excised, which made me wonder what else has been cut and just why I bothered.

I have to say two things first attracted me to MAD MEN - One was the fact that it had been created by Matthew Weiner, A guy very heavily connected to The Soprano's, one of the greatest TV Shows of all time. The second was Jon Hamm. An amazing actor, who quite literally was born to play Donald Francis Draper. Halfway through the series I bought myself a Sony TV, with built in Freeview so for a change I wouldn't have to wait until the Boxset became available in the UK on DVD. 'Red in the Face' was my first episode and boy was it a good one - I pegged that Draper for the kind of guy he was as he walked away from an ailing Sterling with the World's Greatest Smirk on his face. That alone should have been the reason he won the golden globe for best Actor. But I ... Read More:

I was meant to title this CD Box-Set `If you want to know how to turn a brilliant series into a piece of rubbish, ask David Lynch', meaning he starts off on a high and ends rather low.
Mind you, the first part of the series is indeed brilliant. CD One contains the Pilot with both the Original Version and the Alternate International Version. Discs two and three contain the seven episodes of the Series One. And these are a solid five stars. I just love the many twists and turns. In the original Series One release we were stuck in the middle of nowhere when Agent Cooper is shot at the end of Episode 7. Its not a surprise everyone was eagerly awaiting the second Series.
Series two of Greys better than the first??... Oh yes and that is in itself a achievement as season one was amazing and having seen up to episode 13 of Season 3 (currently showing in the States only) it shows a little... but back to season two... It has everything. Meredith is trying to cope with working with ex love Derek and his wife Addison, McSteamy (Mark Sloan) becomes a regular cast member and its most welcome along with the fantastic Callie Torres who has a thing for George!, Christina is her usual fabulously sarcastic self trying to cope been in a relationship with Burke is very honest and refeshing and the Nazi (Bailey) steals every scene she is in. There are some outstanding episodes, notably the two parter that sees a patient with a bomb inside him come ... Read More:

I have totally missed this on TV. OK, having developed a substantial allergy for ads, I miss almost everything on TV, except football. But the reviews at Amazon were enthusiastic enough, and the name of Steven Bochco seemed quite trustworty, ditto the cast. As you can buy Seasons 1 AND 2 for the same price as Season 1 OR Season 2 (separately), I had little doubts in my choice.
The result? After the boxset arrived, I've witnessed several sunrises. The verdict for Mr. Bochco and Co: guilty!!!!!
My advice for anyone: grab it now! It's really amazing. OK, maybe it's my personal opinion, and tastes is not a subject for discussion, but if you are not interested in stuff like this in general, you are not reading this review, are you?
