this is a dvd containing the latest season of the tv show battlestar galactica. this is an entirely new version of the science fiction series from the 1970's. and if you haven't seen the mini series that started the show and then the first three seasons that followed then don't read further. go and buy them, because you haven't really got much chance of picking up the story from this season if you haven't.

as mentioned in other reviews this was originally going to be the fourth and final season, and would have run for twenty episodes. the american writers strike of 2007 meant that production had to be halted halfway through, so a ten episode season four was the result. the final ten episodes of the show will follow in due course, ... Almost finished series 3. 3 episodes to go but I'm really losing the will to live.

For me they've broken the 1st commandment of entertainment: Dont be boring.

The major plot: Galactica and co are trying to find Earth whilst being chased by the Cylons.
The sub plot: Baltar and No.6
Everything else: Sub-sub plots.

How much time is spent on the major plot line? about 20 mins.
How much time is spent on the sub plot? 10 mins?
About 20 episodes take up the completely boring sub-sub plots. Do we need 3 weeks of Apollo fancies Starbuck? If people want to watch marriage breakdowns and adulterous affairs they can watch Eastenders can't they? I dont watch BSG for that!
Everything that's supposed to ... Read More:

The first time I watched it, in 2002, it was the night before one of my driving lessons... The man who was teaching me to drive was very nice and we talked a lot, and I started talking about it... I remember being so angry at this movie, that I couldn't really pay attention to the street... he laughed at me a lot... 'cause he couldn't understand what the big deal was... (not an Anne-Rice-Reader, of course!!)
and I remember saying that they couldn't have read the book, 'cause they even had the wrong hair colours... a lot of wrong hair colors!!
and that just made him laugh more...
Anyway... after years, I gave it another shot last night...
...DON'T ASK ME WHY...
I'm still so disgusted I can't even say what I think about this movie...
They shouldn't have ... Read More:

DVD : In Too Deep [2000]

In Too Deep [2000]

starring: Omar Epps, LL Cool J, Nia Long, Stanley Tucci, Hill Harper
directed by: Michael Rymer
October 14, 2002

I didn't know what to expect when I saw this movie, as I was in the middle of a two or three-month stretch of renting out nothing but "hood" movies, most of which were fairly mediocre. Here, though, I wasn't disappointed.

I'd never seen Omar Epps in a movie before this one, and I have to admit, I was pretty shocked that such an amazing actor had passed me by without my noticing. His role isn't an easy one to play - it could so easily have been overacted - yet he gives a flawless performance as a troubled man trying to figure out where his loyalties lie. LL Cool J fills out his role very well, making a menacing - if vaguely cliched - drug lord, and Stanley Tucci brings a sense of comfort and lightness as the police chief and Epps' mentor.

It is Epps, however, who makes the ... Read More:

This is the best show on TV right now. Maybe the best Sci-Fi show ever. If you are a sci-fi fan, this is a must-see show. If not, you should still consider checking this out. Yes, it is in space and yes, it has killer robots, yet even with that, the depth of human drama is comparable to anything on TV today.

Last season, the 12 Colonies of Kobol were nearly blown away by the Cylons, machines that resemble humans and the old warrior mechanical types. The humans almost ran out of water and fuel, yet somehow manage to survive. This ragtag group of human refugees is in search of a 13th lost tribe of humans on a planet called Earth. Things this season start out badly, and they only get worse.

Both of the leaders of the fleet are incapacitated at the beginning of the season. ... Read More:

This new Battlestar Galactica 2.5 DVD boxset release is full of special features and bonus material to attract all viewers. The split season format is great. It airs as half seasons on Sci-Fi and they release it to match its airing schedule and system. There are so many special features, you could spend more time watching them then the actual episodes.

One of the greatest bonuses to the set is the much anticipated and greatly debated extended version of the episode `Pegasus' this special version is over an hour and a half long it was not aired in this format due to time constraints. It views like a feature movie. It has amazing special effects and amazing cinematography.

Other features include deleted scenes, which are broken down by episodes, include the producer's podcasts ... Read More:
