This is exactly what you would expect of a "Chipmunk" film. Lots of hilarious slapstick humour, silly, but predictable storyline, plus the enigmatic, if somewhat over-egged Chipmunk voices.
Storyline, of this mixed real film and CGI, is basically of an aspiring songwriter, struggling to write any kind of song, which is where Alvin, Theodore and Simon come in. From there the hilarities start and the predictable plot unwinds. Not really for "adults", but for all kids everywhere, this is a great film. We put it on in the car for the kids whilst we were driving on holiday, and there was blissful peace from the back, apart from the regular bouts of laughter. >>More Details |

An entertaining movie but not the best muppet caper.
Gonzo is feeling different and lonely. Nothing his muppet buddies do can make him feel any better. One day he receives a message from space. His family are coming to visit! No one believes him until the sinister agency responsible for extra terrestial life kidnap him and try to suck his brains out. Then it's muppets to the rescue and the usual capers and chaos ensue. i saw this movie in cinemas hoping it would turn out to be a great and funny family film and i was right.garfield yet again has made his second best movie garfield 2 and there are some new charecters too in the film.after the funny film garfield the movie garfield has struck back in his own london adventure.when the fabulous prince version of garfield goes missing he is mistaken for the prince and is on a hilarious movie adventure to save prince from the clutches of the evil villian of the palace.even odie and john star in this film and it is almost more funny than the first movie.i love the scene where the evil dog bites off the mans trousers but thats not all because theres also the funny scene where garfield is pretending to touch big ben.heres ... I loved the Garfield cartoons as a kid. To find out they were finally doing a live action movie was quite exciting, although unfortunately like school uniform, you grow out of it as you get older.
Having said that its very interesting to watch if you're familiar with the cartoon, but if you hated that, then the films will not turn your opinion. The first movie is just a basic cartoon theme brought to life, the second movie expands a little further out with more character voices. I'd certainly prefer the second one with voices from the likes of Bob Hoskins, Jane Horrocks, Vinnie Jones and Tim Curry and of course the always funny Billy Connolly as the jealous Lord. I bought this movie for my 2 girls aged 2yrs & 4yrs having read the reviews already posted on Amazon and it absolutely deserves the 5 star rating. It was lovely to have a movie with no 'mildly frightening scenes' like many other kids movies as my two find them terrifying. The chipmunks are adorable, the singing is cute, the storyline is simple yet engaging and we've watched it every day since we got it with no signs of tiring of it! Oh, and my husband thinks the blu-ray format is fab, whatever that means!
