I got this for Christmas from my Missus having already bought "Work in progress"....
Shows Neil & his incredible abilities/drum kit off very nicely (& at least he isn't wearing a bicycle helmet in this!!)
Hugely impressive - hugely inspiring/INTIMIDATING ;)
Excellent if you want to see what a world class drummer Like Mr Peart is capable of...But very little use instructionally, hence the 3 stars.
everything full speed (which is fine if you can play like Neil - which I most certainly can't...& never will be able to).
No included scores as with "Work in progress".
A demo of Neil at his best...but very little use as an instructional/learning DVD.

I am Anglo Irish and I used to dance when I was young. I am a pensioner now and have not danced for years but this DVD helped me remember some of the steps and was a great joy to watch and I was even trying to dance before getting out of breath! Colin Dunne is a great teacher and dancer and the music was good. The set was nothing to shout about but it enabled you to concentrate on the dancing. Well worth every penny and if you want to learn how they do it buy this DVD. Thank you Colin!

This excellent dance instruction DVD starts with a terrific warm-up, that centers on isolations and stretches. In order to do all the stretches full-out, you'd have to be quite limber, but you can do them at your own level, and still get a lot out of it. This warm-up section is good even if you don't want to continue on to the dance routines, as it makes a great morning "wake-up" as well as a relaxing way to get the tension out of your body after a hard day. Loose pants and a soft stretchy top, with sneakers, is what Laya Barak, and her 2 assistants, Jonathan Lee and Eleonora Barbacini are wearing, and the presentation is well done, with simple lighting and camera angles enabling you to see what is being demonstrated clearly. Music is by Jay ... Read More:

This is the best CD I've ever used to learn belly dancing... the position of the camera is excellent, allows you to see exactly how the move is performed from top to bottom.... Amira precisely shows a step by step instruction on how to move your body for each move (that is left to right, back and front) and does not assume at all that your body maybe used to any of the moves... she repeats the moves few times for you to see and practice, and changes her speed incrementally for each move... one that is completely break down of the move, and one with the move done fully, and one in a dance position...
Unlike most of the terrible CDs, you don't feel rushed to follow Amira's moves, and she doesn't jump to the next move until she covered the ... Read More:

This DVD has many good exercises to improve your posture & technique, it is very clear and understandable! The girl on the DVD who does the exercises is clearly no beginer but does make common mistakes that the tutor corrects.... one small proble is the way that its sectioned out! posture and breathing seem to be somewhere in the middle of the DVD ? well surly it would be better to get this correct before trying some of the actual singing techniques them selfs... anyway its not to bad over all

First let me say that the Synopsis on this page seems to be wrong - this is NOT the Tommy Igoe Getting Started DVD that deals with kit setup etc. This is Groove Essentials.
Based on the Groove Essential poster originally produced by Igoe & Vic Firth, this DVD covers 47 grooves of all sorts of styles - Rock (10 grooves), Funk (3), R&B/HipHop (4) Jazz (9), "World" (20).
As Tommy says, this is obviously not all possible grooves in all possible categories. But it is a great selection that will provide a solid foundation, ranging in complexity from the most basic to (what seems to me anyway, a year into drumming) as pretty awesome & challenging stuff.
Tommy is incredibly enthusiastic & his love for drums is infectious.

I've seen the majority of the beginner DVDs on the market and I have to say this is the best of the lot.
The DVD itself is highly organised into sections so you can find the different moves if you want to look at one particular one. It also has a drills section where you can practice them over and over to your hearts content.
I found the teaching and explanations to be very clear. Filmed in front of a mirror so you can see the front and behind it doesn't focus on her top or feet but gives a view of all. The moves chosen are appropriate for beginners.
I don't mind that there is no choreography on the DVD, in fact I think it is better as it puts the focus on learning and perfecting these moves rather than jumping into learning a ... Read More:
