Yes, another new series, the 14th to be exact, but the makers have done it again. Still the best detective series on TV, this new offering is superbly enjoyable.
The actors have got older in real life as well as in the series and this is none the worse for that. Frost (David Jason) has mellowed a little, as he and George Toolan (John Lyons) begin to learn that the job is a little more dangerous than when they were younger. Frost even shows his long suffering boss Mullett (Bruce Alexander) a little respect, these days.
The show maintains its enjoyable feel good factor, as other old friends such as Ernie Trigg (Arthur White) are still based at Denton Police Station. So continue to enjoy the big hearted Jack Frost, the ... Read More:

A Touch Of Frost - Series 6 - 12 - Complete ASIN: B000IY0BM0
Below is a full list of what the box set contains although going by my records
' Endangered Species ' was marked down as ' Series 13 ' but its contained within this box set so don't waste your money buying it twice.
The only episode that has not been released is ' In the Public Interest ' which may be listed as Series 14 { or Series 13 if its from the same production Company. }
If you bought A Touch Of Frost - Series 11 And 12 ASIN: B000BAZDJC then you will be missing ' Endangered Species ' as I suspect they intend to sell a Series 13 and 14
which would be ' Endangered Species ' and ' In the Public Interest '
Like the other reviewer I noticed that this episode came with my 6-12 box set and was pleasantly surprised. However the episode itself is pretty poor because it is too unbelievable and the two stories don't seem to connect very well.
In this episode we see Jack trying to crack down on a gang who are illegally importing endangered species and other animals. Jack starts off indifferent to the plight of the animals but after reading a government handout becomes quite the advocate animal rites ticking Mullet off for an ivory hammer which happens to conveniently be there on his desk. Of course its good to be against cruelty to animals but the whole thing was a little bit preachy and unbelievable. The most laughable scene was where the ... Read More:

Who once watched one episode of "Frost" can't stop until they watched all. Well, that's of course my personal experience. By the way, I'd like to know: were series 7,8 and 9 only consisting of 1 episode each? Do the DVD's represent only the best episodes otherwise?

Another great series - I do not think there is a bad one of 'Frost'. However, although the sound effects are almost kept under control in this set, it was the beginning of the unnecessary and almost infantile sounds behind certain scenes in this series. They really jar and interfere with the programme. It seems as if contemporary producers feel a compulsion to put in these sounds - it is almost as if they have a quota they must put in. I do wish the would not. It makes the scenes very corny. Hence the four and not five stars.

My nearly teenage daughter is the "Jason" fan in this house and watching his performance on these discs, no wonder. What a talented man and what a varied performer. You hardly see anything of "Del Boy" here and the story lines, although sometimes a little involved, are strong and well planned. Sophie, the fan, has watched this about ten times - me just the once. But I'll watch them again - of that I'm sure.
