Having been addicted to the brilliant Alias on DVD since picking up S1 a few months ago, I was both saddened and excited to begin my journey into the final season.
Season 5 is plagued by some major production problems, all of which are obvious from the moment you start watching: (1) Jennifer Garner is pregnant, and thus doesn't get so many fight scenes. The story was very obviously rewritten around her pregnancy, but to their credit the writers didn't try to hide her baby-tummy, instead they made Sydney Bristow pregnant as part of the story. But they also were forced to shoe-horn in two new agents to take up the slack. (2) Some of the actors weren't around to partake in the final series very much, and were very awkwardly written ... before the flood-1/5-awful finale.
I agree with others that this series failed to live up to the previous 2 seasons, but it is still worth a look. While I found the Sark/Lauren relationship a little hard to believe, the ongoing Sloane saga leaves you wondering just what exactly the man is up to.
My biggest disappointment I confess is patriotic, while I'm unaware of how authentic the details are in relation to other countries, the Episode pertaining to Belfast was rather poorly researched, showing footage of Dublin rather than Belfast, and a pub scene that was more akin to the 1940s that the 1990s! I'll not even mention the accents!
I bought the box set in the end due to poor coverage on British TV and it was definitely worth every penny. This show will definitely remain a firm favourite for ... Read More:

This is one of those programmes where people talk fast and don't say much of interest. If it's supposed to be action-driven the action is poor ( no well-choreographed fight scenes such as those you see in charlie's angels )and the film sets which are often meant to make us believe that filming took place in countries outside the usa were very unconvincing.I personally didn't like the dark interiors and poorly lit people and the pace of storytelling is too fast to allow the viewer to get wholly engaged with the action or the characters.A lot of episodes knocked out at a low cost to the studio. And it shows.

Alias is a tv show that is in my opinion better than buffy. I was a big fan of buffy and when the show ended ALIAS was my pillow to fall back on. I have bought ALIAS seson 1 and 2 and i am massivley impressed by season 1. Basically its about a fit, sexy woman named Sydney Bristow played by the great actress Jennifer Garner who didnt realise that she was working for the bad guys SD-6 who lied about being a covert branch of the CIA. Instead SD-6 deal in profit. When Arvin Sloane played by the excellent actor Ron Rifkin had Syd's fiance murdered Sydney then learned the truth. CIA were she meet a man named Michale Vaughn who becomes Syd's handler. Season one is a brilliant open to the world of ALIAS i especialy love the episode THE BOX 1 AND 2. I would ... Read More:

You've got to admire this show- every year is different, every year the rules are re-written, so for good reason it's very difficult to compare this season to the previous two. But all I wanted to know before I purchased Alias-year 3 was exactly that, so that's what I'll attepmt to do now for everyone else in that same position...
This third season picks up precisely where the second season left off and that memorable cliff-hanger, and let me tell you...our non-stop all-action girl is back with avengeance! The emotional resonance is still in tact as one of the show's vital statistics along with the wigs, beaurocracy and high-kicking. Let me say first though- I really liked the way Sydney's return was handled following her mysterious abscence and so in my view this season ... Read More:

Season one was the intro. Now season two goes up to the next level. It has you gripped from episode one right though to its action packed finale. Sydneys mother is now added to the cast and i thank the creators for that. Although we are missing Anna, sydney nemisis from season one, Mr Sark takes her place. In this season, everything changes, and just to keep the viewers gripped even more, theres an episode about half way though where sydneys world is turned upside down, along with ours.
