One I won't recommend. The only good thing about it was the fact that I got to hold my girlfriend's hand while watching it!!
From start to finish, this was a most disappointing viewing from every angle. I have hardly come across a more far-fetched, incoherent and boring storyline. And there are bad ones out there. The acting performances were abysmal even for a school play, across the board. And the sex.... clumsy when depicted, scary when insinuated. More than once was I tempted to fast forward, fearful of what might come up next. (No, they won't show that ... oh yes, they did...)
Every possible cliche featured, stereotypes over-used and worn out, there is no value in this movie. It not only suffers from lack of talent, ... Read More:

An well produced and realistic romantic film about coming out. The actors are very convincing and its easy to relate to them. Well worth watching.

An absorbing film. Very clever and unusually depicted story-telling. It wasn't obvious what the great drama was going to turn out to be and I was guessing who was who for quite some time. Surreal and very well acted drama which you can see was a stage play originally. The acting and lines are straight from the theatre. And of course the actors are playing out a drama "on stage" themselves. The "play within a play" has the tone, style and plot of classic tragedy - in a highly unusual setting - but then classic tragedy often has been so. Very well acted by all. This is real artistic fusion of cinema and theatre.

I watched this film twice. And I have to be honest and say that the second time round it ranked higher. Now I was reading from a previous reviewer that this film was done on a low budget.
Well they did a good job. At first it may seem a so sweetishly fairy-like film but if you pay attention there are a few messages underneath it all. They may not have represented actual real life situations (at least one presumes) but some of the situations described in the film are not so far away from everyday life and people's misconceptions.
Maybe in real life people are harsher and circumstances can have a sourer aftertaste.

Poor storline, poor sound, poor acting and dreadfully cheap looking sets and that is without having to put up with "hammy acting". It is sad that millivres think that this is an acceptable type and quality of dvd. The gay community deserves better. NOt remotely worth the money. My advice...give this dvd a miss.

the type of seduction in question is part of the myth that any "hetrosexual" female hasn't met the "right woman" yet.
to put it another way ,in this film two young women fall into bed with other women at the drop of a hat?
other than the above this is a watchable rom-com ,i would not normally watch this type of film ,this however is a wet afternoon film ,better than most of it's type.

I don't think that I would have many positive things to say about this film if it wasn't for Leisha Hailey's outstanding performance (Despite her being made to suffer with a terrible, undeserving script). I did question why such an extraordinary actress was thrown into this melodrama, perhaps to promote her band "The Murmurs" and star in bigger projects such as "The L Word"? Either way, the film seriously does not flatter Hailey's brilliance as an actress.
As for most of the rest of the film, I found utterly pointless. There is absolutely no doubt that director Alex Sichel is forcing the "drugs and drink are bad" message onto the audience, unlike more balanced films such as "Thirteen" or "Sweet Sixteen". Perhaps the most accurate portrayal in the film however, is ... Read More:

This is a documentary which is constructed very cleverly like a film to parallel two stories - the young men acting in adult films and the director whose day job is in a mortuary. Very clever. But also very sad. One can't help but see that the real culprit is probably the drug addiction which makes the young men need money and their willingness to get involved in the filming to pay for that. If they didn't need that then they wouldn't need to get involved. Or would they? The film doesn't give a totally one-sided answer to things as to why people do what they do. The young men, the director, the "customers" who buy the films, the drug dealers who supply the drugs. So the film makes you question why people are doing things - human motivation - and that's what's interesting. ... Read More:
