seriously this is one of my favourite films i have ever seen.
I fell in love with someone i shouldn't have which is perhaps why i love it so much. its so simple yet really really beautiful. its very well made and a perfect film for a night on the sofa cuddling up to your loved one. me and my girlfriend watched it together and both absolutely loved it. i definately suggest that you give it a watch!! >>More Details |

I'd only ever heard of the show through the internet & purchased the series on what clips i'd seen from the show - i'm so glad I did, it has to be one of the most refreshing and pure-escapism tv shows put out in a while. The first series seems a little off the wall at first but the series evens out, the more episodes you watch. Trash tv for sure, but alot of fun to watch, and incredibly camp and OTT. Tracy Scoggins in particular, Makes Dante's well worth checking out as evil Grace! Hot men, hot women, pure madness and hammy acting...bring on season 4

Coming from the director of But I'm A Cheerleader there were high expectations for this film but it certainly doesn't disappoint! The fiesty film follows a straight-laced dyke as she becomes involved with a gang of gay feminist radicals and falls for one of its leaders in the process.
The romantic comedy features turns from many familiar faces including Daniela Sea (The L Word) and Jenny Shimizu (Dante's Cove) and is genuinely one of the best lesbian-themed films to hit DVD in ages - definitely worth a watch! >>More Details |

If I were reviewing the show itself, I would give this 4 or 5 stars. However, what disappointed me was the absence of subtitles on this release of the show. Maybe it's just my TV, but sometimes the dialogue is diffiulct to hear, especially in scenes where there is a lot of background noise. This means I have to strain to capture all the words and nuances, rather than being able to sit back and enjoy the narrative as it develops. Moreover, the choice to release it withour subtitles obviously makes it pretty much impossible for anyone hearing-impaired to enjoy. A rather cheap, cost-cutting ommision from Showtime, whose boxsets are usually excellent...

Although this comes from the same studio that released huge lesbian hit Loving Annabelle, Love Sick is a different proposition altogether. The affecting and beautiful drama follows the intense relationship between two young women which is threatened by an incestuous tryst between one of the lovers and her jealous and possessive brother. The nuanced performances given by the two leads are simply fantastic - both delivering naturalistic turns that really make us care about the characters and believe in the almost innocent relationship that develops quietly over the course of the film. This is a really beautiful movie that manages to tackle controversial issues without the sensationalist Hollywood treatment.

When I first saw the trailer for this film I thought it was a love story between the two guys on the cover of the case. In fact it is a very different story. The film is about a young man coming out to himself and those around him over the course of a summer during the 80s.
I found it hard to fault anything in this film. With a lot of gay cimema you do tend to find the production values sometimes look cheap and some of the acting is below par. With this film this never happens. You could easily be watching any mainstream film. The only thing I didn't like about this movie was that the ending wasn't wrapped in a neat bow. I really couldn't recommend this film to anyone, not even anyone of the gay population. The jokes are crude and only gained a couple of laughs through the whole film. It's the kind of movie that makes straight people think that is how every gay person acts, and that is wholly untrue. Considering I am in the target audience for this film (19 and gay) it failed in drawing me in to watch it all the way to the end, although I did. Yes it's light-hearted and over the top, which is what it's meant to be, but I can still think of many other gay films that are much much better than this.
