This is without doubt one of the most detailed and intriguing films of recent years, like many film franchises they get tired and boring! However with Batman Begins and the Dark Knight they have been reinvented and far out do any of the Tim Burton films though i really like those offerings also. Batman Forever and Batman and Robin are terrible.
Christian Bale is an excellent Batman and is suitably supported by the rest of the cast including Heath Ledger whilst excellent is under used and the pacing of the film is off here and there but with so much dross being made it is very difficult to criticise a film which is as magical and engaging as this.
Not going to go into real details into the storyline as it has all been done ... Read More:

What makes CS Lewis's Narnia "septet" so timeless is that the books work on 2 levels - straightforward 'fantasy' for children and a 'deeper' symbolic allegory of Christian faith.
This turned out fortunately for film-makers like Disney wanting to jump on the Tolkien/Rowling fantasy bandwagon. Children in the 1940s and 1950s didn't need more explicit biblical references putting in the books because British Christians then grew up like Muslims today - their faith was not an optional add on but an integral, 'living' aspect of their existence. They were familiar with what Lewis's allegories were without needing them spelled out. Today, in Britain's almost totally secular society, the fact that Lewis didn't lay the Christian theme on with a trowel ... Read More:

After I Am Legend (disappointing), I was hoping for a good Will Smith film. Unfortunately, I didn't get my wish. I like superhero movies, generally, but Hancock is mediocre.
John Hancock is a depressed alcoholic superhero. He's still doing his job, but in the process of saving lives he's also costing Los Angeles millions of dollars in repairs. For this reason, the public do not like him and are getting to the stage where they wish he'd leave and go 'save' another city. Things change, though, when Hancock saves the life of super-duper PR guy Ray Embrey. Realising that Hancock is a good guy underneath it all, he decides to help him by changing his image and have the public love him once more.
This isn't a review of the film - which is OK, its a criticism of the DVD release. How come the US gets a 2 disc set with loads of behind the scene documentaries, and all we get is a commentary and a few deleted scenes? I have no doubt this will get a Special Edition release next year, so if you have to own it wait for that. Universal studios are always short changing customers in the UK, so send them a message and tell 'em where they can stick it!

The movie is great, but this blu-ray comes in a variable aspect ratio, from 2:35:1 to 1:85:1, alternating from thatre and Imax versions...Well, for most people it may look nice, but i didn't like the effect on my 52 inch screen. In wide shots we have a 1:85 aspect ratio and the rest we have the cinemascope effect, so basicaly you see the movie alternating with the black bars and full screen. It looks weird for such a good movie

This is a proper superhero movie . Downey plays a blinder as the bad guy turned good . What I liked about this film is it just lets you think you can catch your breath then it hits you with another action sequence . And its all action from start to finish . Bring on the sequel.........

If a film is rated '12', why would you deliberate whether to show it to an eight year-old? The classification surely outlines what is suitable.
It's amazing how many people buy their children '18' (or '12') rated video games (or films) and then complain about how unsuitable they are for youngsters. Saying that, my mum used to let me see Hammer and Universal Horrors as a child and I still turned out okay.
With regard to Del Toro's Hellboy 2, I loved it. I'm 42 and my inner eight year-old loved it too! Del Toro goes from strength to strength. This is a perfect melding of his Spanish language aesthetic with his Hollywood aesthetic. Roll-on Hellboy 3! Recommended!

This is not a film i wanted to see but my girlfriend pursuaded me to watch it. It was fun and light, with some more darker scenes. I thought the acting was done well and the special effects were very good.
It's not a serious film with a serious story but the story line was easy to follow and thoroughly enjoyable as you (as the viewer) were introduced to different charactrs.
Would recommend to anyone with a lighter side.
