This is a pretty good review of an exciting season in Formula 1. With all the major incidents of the eighteen races shown and with multi angle views of the most spectacular crashes, driver interviews and in car camera of a lap from each circuit with driver commentary, all the bases are touched on if not covered. The most notable of the laps were: Rosberg in Monaco and Hamilton in Hockenheim.
The coverage of the first nighttime race in Singapore is excellent and the final race in Brazil is nail biting stuff. I enjoyed this DVD and is well worth a look for all Formula 1 fans. Included in the extras is a Ross Brawn interview and an interview with Hamilton in 2006 on the eve of his GP2 series win. I did think the extras were a bit ... Read More:

Let's face it, most sporting DVDs are just bloody awful - some stock footage cobbled together with a couple of interviews bought off ITV.
That's not the case with Joe Calzaghe - My Life Story. Co-produced by Calzaghe himself, this is an intimate portrait of the man himself, with never-seen-before footage of Joe and his family. If you really want to get to know what Calzaghe is like, there is no better place to start - from Newbridge Gym in Abercarn to the family home in Sardinia via the bright lights of Las Vegas. With interviews from living legends such as Sugar Ray Leonard and Jake La Motta, this is a boxerphile's wet dream.
Although what really sets this DVD apart is the inimitable Enzo Calzaghe - Joe's father/trainer, ... Read More:

I saw the BBC coverage of the 2008 Laguna Seca race and was looking forward to sharing this with my dad over Xmas in the Duke 2008 review DVD.
However, on a initial viewing I'm not going to bother. The sporadic commentary is amateurish and uninformed and the editing is woeful.
In an action packed race they opted to spend the time set aside on multiple replays of crashes and shots of garage crew looking bored (for no apparent reason).
The battle between the top two was just plain confusing and managed to lose any sense of the race long drama that actually occurred. In addition there was no clear picture of what was happening with anyone other than the leaders. I appreciate that this is a seasons review and they have to cram in a ... Read More:

What a great DVD to have, unfortunately it wasn't the greatest that I have seen. The Treble DVD was miles better, though it is still fun to look at Chelsea coming second in everything.

Having seen the ad on TV I rushed out and got this on the day of release but must admit that had I seen it prior to purchase I would have waited until it ends up being sold off in clearance section.
OK, it's a bit of fun. Watching a load of petrol heads getting it wrong is always good eye candy but this is pretty average and I have seen better, in particular the "Havoc" compilations. There is too much time wasted on trivia rather than the action and a lot of the "action" is hardly "madness" - or even spectacular. Whilst Murray does a good job of trying to hype it up, it's easy to loose interest and at times the background music is just plain irritating to the point of wanting to turn it off.
It gets three stars as it does have some stuff ... Read More:

Unbelievable antics as usual and top marks for the entertainment value but as with the other reviewers I found the setup a bit disconcerting and frustrating .Why BBC why ?
Even if you're no fan of Liverpool and you like all the colours apart from Red, you can't ignore the fact that over the last 10 years, Steven Gerrard is one of the most powerful midfield players on the face of the planet, ever. This DVD just proves how devastatingly effective he can be.
Think of all the best strikers, Shearer, Owen, Rush, Van Nistleroy (?), that have graced the English Premiership and yes, they can all score amazing goals. But, they would be lucky to do 4 or 5 screamers in their career. Stevie G though smashes goals in from everywhere, any angle, direction, left foot, right foot, headers, free kicks, open play, time and time again. It's all here and when you see great goal after great goal, you realise how special this player ... Read More:

I actually bought this as an Easter prezzy for my 5yo son (he doesn't like choccy!)
He's autistic & fanatical about cars, bikes, Top Gear & Jeremy Clarkson!
My son has watched this DVD at least 10 times already & still bounces off the walls every time!
Whilst i fail to see the avid interest in everything he does (he watches the Audi Channel for petes sake!!!), i can wholeheartedly say that this DVD deserves every bit of his approval.
Clarkson is at his dry, witty best. His presenting is excellent all the way through - & even if you're not a fan i dare you not to find some of Clarksons commentary laugh out loud funny.
Being a huge fan of 'Super Joe' and having watch all the other DVDs with him i had to get this one and , like all the others this was fantastic, packed full of fights and action it really gave the best possible story of where Joe came from and how far he has come. With so many fights and at over 3 hours long this is the most comprehensive story of Joe, would recommend to any Joe or boxing fan, well worth the watch go buy it!
