This is not a film i wanted to see but my girlfriend pursuaded me to watch it. It was fun and light, with some more darker scenes. I thought the acting was done well and the special effects were very good.
It's not a serious film with a serious story but the story line was easy to follow and thoroughly enjoyable as you (as the viewer) were introduced to different charactrs.
Would recommend to anyone with a lighter side.

The script for Hancock was based on a much darker concept that circulated Hollywood for a number of years. The production became locked into `development hell' with no studio willing to pluck up the gumption and put it into production, especially with a projected budget of $100+ million, and with the intention for it to star one of mainstream American cinema's most wholesome bankable stars; Will Smith.
At what stage Will Smith joined the production process is unclear. Nevertheless it would have been interesting to have seen that much darker concept, as some of its purported ideas would have made compelling viewing. The original script was entitled `Tonight He Comes', hinting of an unpleasant nature of the central character, and its easy ... Read More:

have seen this film more than a dozen times and it never stops to amaze me.. the perfect film combination of a history lesson, action/adventure, suspence and romance, cant believe that the oscars of its year missed it.. many great characters with most given relative depth, and a daniel day-lewis perfectly casted, establishing himself after winning the oscar for my left foot and showing of what is to come from him: in the name of.., gangs of ny, the crucible, there will be blood more recently.
A superb multi-layered story, hard and bloody at times but also soft and romantic.. one of the best music scores ever on film (!), visually stunning with breathtaking picture and cinematography, one of these films that makes u think "thats what cinema is all ... Read More:

I love Sharpe and Harper. But face it, they're ten years older than in the earlier films. It's doing them a bad turn to pretend otherwise and not to craft the script around that fact. The authors string stereotyped situations with stereotyped villains and bland good guys, a lumpy heroin and a boring femme fatale. Only the enthusiasm of the Indian extras brought some life into it.

A federal agent is asked by his boss to spy on his mum ( meg ryan) who dates an infamous art thief( antonio banderas). Not that interesting a story and didn't make me laugh much. This is one of those films that relies on one funny scenario ( son spies on mum ) for its whole impact.
Not enough firepower on the joke front.

In Sharpe's Rifles you get to meet our hero for the first time. Although there is a certain amount of scene setting there is no lack of action - his approach to combat makes James Bond look like a pussy cat - not only does he have to contend with the French but with the attitude of the other Officers who have bought the rank they now fill. With the help of the Spanish partisan leader he learns how to get the most out of his men and overcome the initial resentment they have for an officer "raised from the ranks".
In Sharpe's Eagle he is called upon to restore the honour of the regiment after the colours are lost in battle, just to add to the task he has to do it with a bunch of raw recruits and, of course, some none too able officers. The battle ... Read More:
