This is the first half of a season that was interrupted by the writer's strike in the US. The second half won't even air in the US until next year, so I really think it should be judged on the quality of the show, not the number of episodes on this set.
Season 4 builds very nicely, with superb storytelling, fine acting and much tension and excitement. I can't wait for Season 4.5! The finest TV drama of the past decade for me. >>More Details |

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a classic.
Welcome to the world of Wall-e (Waste Allocation Lifter Earth-Class) the loveable robot. The plot (far from weak) circles around the sole surviving example of a machine deployed to clear the planet of the mess that mankind has made of it, whilst the human race left the planet with a plan to return once the mess was gone. This plan has however failed leaving Wall-e to continue with the task on his own. A rubbish clearing robot with caterpillar tracks for feet that lives in a container collecting human artefacts, is hardly the profile of a hero to save the world but then I guess that is the point. Pacing is completely screwed with nothing interesting happening until halfway through the 11 episodes. Dull new characters in Maya (with her ridiculous ability), Alejandro (who ends up being totally pointless) and Monica. Plot is a rehash of the first series but done in half the time and with no character building or any of the mystery of series 1.
Worth watching for episodes 8 and 9 (Four Months Ago & Cautionary Tales) only. The rest is boring and messy especially the appalling trash of 'Powerless' with Peter acting even more airheaded than I previously thought was possible and Nathan showing up and saving the day by saying the magic words "I love you" before deciding to organise a spur of the moment press conference and give one ... I don't want to write any more plots or story about this wonderful sequel; there are many reviewers who already did this. I just want to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel than I would have. This time, the filming and special effects have very much improved. It is a story for mainly for children and young adults. Since I am a child at heart, I always loved watching this kind of genre movies. And I have to say, this is Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is almost good enough to be compared to the "Lord of The Rings" Trilogy. I hope the next sequels to Narnia will get better and better.

Iron Man is a great film, in fact it is my personal favourite of 2008 just beating out the Dark Knight for me, and far superior to Indy 4.
Robert Downey Jr really does make the film, and his portrayal of Tony Stark is right on the money, credit must also go to Jon Favreau (Who never seems to get a mention) for great direction that never gets silly or insults the intelligence of the audience (Like so many superhero films do). New fairytales are surely dangerous territory for big film studio's to venture into. Stardust has overcome that hurdle by recruiting an 'A' list cast.
Having taken that leap of faith, a production of great merit is the result. The triumph of which must be the understated, tongue in cheek delivery by the principles, even the Americans. Robert De Niro way out of his comfort zone does a particulaly good job. Its like a 'Princess Bride', with a big budget. And in that league as well. Enjoy. >>More Details |

One star and five star reviews for this film should be laughed at, as you will many great moments in the first half of this film.
At some point the laughs had to run out, there is only so much script in an alcoholic super hero. When that happens and the plot twist occurs, which many will see coming, you've just got to enjoy looking at the tunning Charlize Theron and patiently await the end of the film. >>More Details |

This show is totally terrific. Based around supernatural powers - this show really does it very well. With one human with supernatural powers wanting more supernatural powers, its up to other humans with supernatural powers to stop this evil force and save the world from destruction.
The story sounds like a RPG fantasy game or a story pulled from the Marvels Comics Universe, but honestly, the show is simply amazing and has so many twists and turns along the way to make you coming back for more. The special effects just keeps you wondering how these effects were put together - especially the power to freeze time, even during an explosion. Heroes is such a wonderful show with such an amazing cast that makes the show that much amazing. Should not be missed. >>More Details |

Although I am not the greatest Harry Potter fan in the world I have always enjoyed the film series and thankfully this film continues this trend. The Order of the Phoenix sees the dark lord Voldemort gathering his forces but with the Ministry of Magic refusing to acknowledge his return Harry and his friends must defy the Ministry in order to prepare for the coming war. Complicating matters is Ms Umbridge, the Ministry appointed Defence from the Dark Arts teacher, who is willing to do anything for the Ministry of Magic.
I haven't read any of the Potter books as yet and as such I cannot comment about how closely this film sticks to the book and I have heard mixed reports on the subject. Nevertheless I do feel that the film fits in very will with the style established by the other ... Read More: >>More Details |
