I have never done pilates before and having read other reviews decided to purchase this dvd hoping for a good introduction to a pilates workout. And this is exactly what you'll get. If, like me, you're not a big fan of complicated dance routines done by a bunch of people in garish outfits whose 'ideal' bodies clearly have nothing to do with the exercise performed, you're gonna love this dvd. The exercises are shown in a slow and clear way by a friendly instructor - they are easy to follow even if you're doing it for the first time and effective from the first move. This dvd is fantastic. I have about 7 or 8 fitness dvds sat on the shelf that have been used once and never seen the light of day since, but this one is great. I dont have very good coordination and usually flap around like a fish on dry land when doing exercise dvds, but this one is really eay to get into, there were parts i got a bit stuck with but im sure once ive done it afew times it will be fine. its set out in 4 parts so it seems to go really quick, you also get told how many songs each section will have so it makes it easier to stick it out, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! So glad i bought it. The woman who does the dvd, Deanna, is really good and very likeable, she makes it fun and easy.

I'm not impressed with this pilates dvd at all and will, after writing this review, be shopping for another. Ms Bussell comes across very well, the music is fine, what I have a problem with is the exercises and the way Ms Bussell hurries through them. She's obviously an extremely supple person so by the time she's demonstrated 10 neck stretches I will have done 3 (slowly, as a non-supple person should). I don't believe she's demonstrated nearly enough correct key postures either, as she only did a few, yet whenever I've attended pilates classes a LOT more time is given over to ensuring the class is doing the excercises correctly. I really think Ms Bussell has jumped on the bandwagon and not given enough thought to who the dvd is aimed at.

Got this DVD yesterday and giving it a go for the first time today. Practically gave up almost immediately - impossible to follow. So I thought I would see how other people have got on with it and read the reviews - thank you, very helpful - maybe I will try and persevere but not being a very patient person with much time to spare, I think it's unlikely.
My biggest complaint with this - and other fitness DVD's - is that they never have someone doing the routine with their back to you - know what I mean? Not only do you have to try and learn all the moves but you have to learn them in reverse. Please please fitness DVD makers - we don't need to see your face! this is by far the best workout dvd i have ever bought. in just 2 weeks i have toned up have more energy and feel loads better. the box set is good value for money and allows a change between workout types. i would recommend this to anyone who wants to change their shape particulary after having children. i have found it fun and encouraging.

I was bought this DVD as I had a very bad back. I started using the first program and eventually worked my way up to being able to do all the programs. I lost weight and gained loads of core strength. It may not be true pilates (so I read) but it has done wonders for me and my back. I now use it to maintain my strength and supplement this with kickboxing (another 10 minute solutions) - something I never would have been able to achive before.

I bought this DVD as soon as it came out a year ago and have been using regularly in rotation with my other fitness DVDs. I think the routine is great and excercises you all round and I like that you can select different sections depending on the time you have and to keep you interested.
Great. But and I mean a big BUT, Davina's constant chatter, especially in the important cool down is SO IRRITATING. Funny to watch once yes, but you are supposed to use this DVD 3 times a week or so and you can imagine the gurning faces and interruptions about Madonna's biceps or whatever get a bit tired. Hopefully they will take this into consideration on her next DVD as it reallt is one of the best fitness DVDs out there! >>More Details |

I have never been inspired to write a review before but I think that this Yogalates DVD is absolutely fantastic. I have been wanting a workout along the lines of yoga, not complicated but not too gentle that it is boring.I have done yoga in the past and I am familiar with the postures they do but I did not want something too basic or gentle. I have also not practiced yoga for a while either and I found the workouts challenging in the sense of making me feel like it was working out my body but not overly strenuous and they do make recommendations for alternative postures if the ones to aspire to are a bit too ambitious for someone new and I finished the DVD feeling excited that I had found it and that I couldn't wait until I could do it again knowing that if I kept it up it would definetly ...
