There is nothing I can add to the reviews for each of the individual films which rate as classics in the war film genre. I'm of that generation that can remember it being a really big event especially at Christmas when the Great Escape was on the telly and like many people can remember it scene by scene but still feel its better than most modern films relying on computer generated effects. Myself an ex RAF man its always thrilling to see the aerial scenes of the Battle of Britain made ironically with the help of the then fascist Spanish air force who where still flying Heinkels, Dorniers and Meschershmits a left over from Franco's friendship with Hitler. A bridge too far made in 1977 came later but is true to Corneleus Ryans book being historically ... Read More:

As other reviewers have noted, there was a general feeling of unease when a small, relatively unknown actor was slated to be the next James Bond. We needn't have worried, however, since all such concerns are dissipated in the first few moments of this latest addition to the Bond stable.
The opening sequence in grainy black-and-white is completely unexpected, beautifully handled and surprisingly gritty, setting the tone for the rest of the film. Within the first quarter of an hour or so we have had one of the most imaginative openings to a Bond, followed by one of the finer title sequences, topped off by a vertiginous (especially in Blu Ray!) chase sequence which may have you gasping.
This film, based on the dreadful events of 1990's Sierra Leone (limbs hacked off, families massacred etc) is in the 4 to 5 star range. It could be upsetting for some people to watch, because it DOES show brutality, sadism, indifferent UN officials suffering from compassion-fatigue. In a word, it is realistic. My wife, the daughter of an ex-RAF air traffic controller, who was born in Tanganyika territory (now Tanzania), found it very upsetting to see, partly because as a child she watched something very similar happening across the border river in Congo in the 1960's.
The film does show the Africans as people, not just a backdrop to fighting and adventuring...and for once, the white people are not shown as almost all wicked or stupid, though ... Read More:

I was nearly put off buying this film as it seems that some of the reviewers don't think it quite as good as the series. However, I have now bought it and think it is brilliantly made, very funny and a wonderful film to put by for a quiet moment during the Christmas holidays when the TV listings are disappointing or for a rainy Sunday afternoon. My children love it, my parents love it, we love it - so nice to be able to sit down to a film together as a family.
Unlike the series which is set solely in Britain parts of this film are of the Germans plotting their invasion from the other side of the Channel. The juxtapositioning of the German preparedness and the British unpreparedness is priceless. You will recognise some plots from the earliest ... Read More:

There's not much more to my review than the one word title I just gave it. Occasionally touching music from Aerosmith (for Steve's little girl) but the last 20 minutes are dreadful and are so quick-cut that it's like watching an MTV music video that just goes on and on and on. The kids puppet show Space Patrol Space Patrol : The Complete Series (6 Disc Set)handled the very same script much better in the 1960s and - unlike Bruce Willis - Captain Larry Dart of the Galasphere 347 manages to place the explosives and get off the damn rock before it explodes! So much for comparisons of Bruce and a small 60's wooden puppet, though...

This is a different kind of season to the first with some absolutely brilliant moments.
If you can overlook the fact (something you always have to with 24) that all big events happen on the hour then you will love the way each episode leaves you begging to watch more. Classic episodes all the way through.
Again there are twists and turns in this series too, if season 1 didn't make you trust noone then this one surely will.

With the current Batman craze because of the Dark Knight, it was time for me to re-visit these movies. For me these are still good, especially the first 2, however not the Dark Knight I am afraid to say. These movies are more like the Comic Book Batman before the Dark Knight re-invention, and do have that more superhero comic book feel with some homage to the TV series. This is even more evident because of the new movies which have a much more sinister and 'real' feel to them. The new movies very much set Batman in a 'real' world setting, makes you feel that maybe this could happen, wheras this series is very much more fantasy, with the feel of Gotham City, the gadgets and the enemies. This is best highlighted with the difference in the Joker Characters.... in these movies he is a creation ... Read More:

Okay so here is me a huge spidey fan (of the comics) and this film dispite what meny say is NOT as bad as meny claim.
Quite frankly i enjoyed it but it needs that story telling drive it had in two and even flawed one had that as well 3 just missed in it my eyes.
There was too meny storylines and only so much time to play with but you see thats my main thing with the film the villains... well that and emo dance petey but mostly..... Venom.
Ah Venom.
He is and most likely always will be in my eyes the king of comic book bad guys its a shame they used him for min or two and BOOM gone.
The storyline was kinda stupid also but if you can get past the flaws its a good superhero film at least rent it give it try.
