Michael Caine stars as Charlie Croaker, a newly realised prisoner, who sets about putting into motion a plan to steal a fortune, $4,000,000, in gold bars from the Italians. Until certain events come to pass, he is unable to set the plan into motion. He sneaks into the prison, where he interrupts Mr Bridger's nightly toilet break. Once undue reparations have come to pass onto the unfortunate Charlie Croaker, Mr Bridger finds an interest in the scheme. Once he, Croaker, has selected the team, and carried out rudimentary training he transports them to Italy; where they encounter the Italian Mafia. Although I enjoyed the film on a very basic, escapist level, the cynical American nationalism on show was quite replellent. As the film bowls along we are given endless panoramic views of American landmarks, cities, and - what a shock - an aircraft carrier brimming over with fighter planes. The theme throughout appears to be "Gee, aint the good ole USA amazing!" with a flimsy adventure almost tacked on. Also, in the company of Harvey Keitel and Sean Bean (what were they thinking?) Nicolas Cage proves once again that he can't act; I suppose that's what nepotism is all about - if Uncle Francis Ford Coppola couldn't give his nephew a hand up, who could? He did it with his daughter in Godfather 3, after all. Oh, and the villains are the Brits as usual. ... Read More:

Shakespeare's Henry V is lavish, poetic and dramatic. The plot is simple: Young Henry V lays claim to the French throne and invades France to claim it. The rag tag English army make their way through France conquering city after city. On their way to Calais, they are met by superior, better equipped and better trained French army at Agincourt.
The English, aware of their inferior numbers and training, begin to despair. Henry V, the leader that he is, inspires his men in the famous words:
If we are marked to die
We are enough to do our country loss
And if [we are] to live the few men the greater share of honour
God's will I pray thee wish not one man more
He who outlives this day will stand a-tiptoe when ... Read More:

For some reason this is probably my least favourite season but nevertheless it is still absolutely fantastic. There are some epic moments and episodes here that i would consider my absolute favourites but something just relegates it below the others, i don't know what it is, maybe the bad guy isn't up scratch, either way saying this is my least favourite is hardly an insult.
Top stuff and Jacks rawest ever moment is in this series.

This film is not at all, the acting is realistic and Will smith portrays the best character he has, for some time now, but the ending of the movie isnt at all great, and like others before me, yes the alternative ending is much better then the original.
Well anyway, i believe the purpose of all blu-ray reviews is not to yap on about the movie but about the delicious transfer to HD.
Picture: the picture is very good and sharp at most moments, the colors are spectacular and the contrast is also very fine. 9/10
Audio: The sound is very nice, clear, and very good quality probably the best audio quality blu - ray i have 10/10
Overall (including the transfer and the film and acting, etc): 8/10

I have to be honest, I was really dreading this film after some of the reviews I have read. My opinion is that OK, this film had a fairly flimsy story with no real depth, but as a fantasy adventure film it did an OK job. Granted it will never be a classic, but the effects were quite good, fairytale story... little people v big bad guys..... so all in all, probably never watch it again, but it was a alright Sunday afternoon no brainer of a movie.

John Boorman's 1981 film is an exercise in how to treat fantasy in an adult and serious manner.
The fantasy elements are subtle - there are no stop motion monsters to be found here - and yet still pervade the movie with a sense of the magical & arcane. This film in no way attempts a realistic approach to the extent of 2004's King Arthur.
Merlin as portrayed here is dark & ambiguous, constantly aware of the end of the time of magic & the old gods. A very eccentic performance by the
excellent Nicol Williamson. Helen Mirren as the evil & seductive sorceress, Morgana gives an erotically charged performance that is not easily forgotten!
Nigel Terry as Arthur is a bit wooden BUT his tone & manner suits the film's often sombre approach & he brings ... Read More:

This film was never going to win any Oscars now was it!?
The only reason I bought it is because I got it new for around eleven quid in a supermarket and I like Brendan Fraser from his Mummy outings and of course the 3-D gimmick. In that regard the film doesn't disappoint.
The pack comes with 2 pairs of 3-D specs so you'll need to get hold of more if the whole family want to watch the film at once. Watching the 3D version of the film without the specs is going to be hard as the technique used simultaneously overlays the green/red layers of the image and just looks wrong! However, with the glasses the 3D effect achieved on the whole is very good and more than worth paying the asking price of the film. Some of scenes display incredible depth and they really look like you ... Read More:
