Almost finished series 3. 3 episodes to go but I'm really losing the will to live.
For me they've broken the 1st commandment of entertainment: Dont be boring.
The major plot: Galactica and co are trying to find Earth whilst being chased by the Cylons.
The sub plot: Baltar and No.6
Everything else: Sub-sub plots.
How much time is spent on the major plot line? about 20 mins.
How much time is spent on the sub plot? 10 mins?
About 20 episodes take up the completely boring sub-sub plots. Do we need 3 weeks of Apollo fancies Starbuck? If people want to watch marriage breakdowns and adulterous affairs they can watch Eastenders can't they? I dont watch BSG for that!
Everything that's ... Read More:

I expect that if your buying this you'll know what its about so I'll review on the quality of the image if I may. Some films, especially older ones have a poor quality transfer onto DVD, though not this one. Colours and detail are first class, offering up a bright colourful image devoid of any nasties (blocking etc. If you've seen DVDs of the orignial Star Wars the picture quality is on a par with them.

Its rubbish. I persevered with up to half way, but could not take any more. Nothing happened and you simply do not care about the cliche characters. Do yourself a big favour and give this total bore a miss.

Simply put, this is a fun movie to watch and it never gets old. A middle aged storyline with modern twists. Lots of emotion and although it's cheap it isnt one of those rubishy knock off films you get out the bargain bin at Sumerfield.

I watched this for the first time in a friends house on an ancient Beta video player in 1985. I enjoyed it and having watched it again recently for the first time in an attempt to understand why alot of grown men love Star Wars i was disappointed and mystified.
Is it any good? No. R O T J was the Star Wars film which thrilled me most as a child. I loved the ewoks, though now I find them to be a bit irritating and pointless in terms of plot. I loved the scenes in Jabba's palace, though now I think the use of Jim Henson's Creature Workshop was a bit over the top. I loved and still love the fast paced action sequences and the climactic lightsaber duel at the end.
All this to say I don't think Return Of The Jedi is worth watching as an adult. ... Read More:

This movie portrays Bruce Wayne's privileged but traumatic childhood, his path toward becoming an agent of justice, and his unusual training. It then moves back to Gotham, Bruce's hometown metropolis, that has become extremely crime-ridden, corrupt, and impoverished, with the gains made by Bruce's parents having been just about wiped out. To address this, Bruce Wayne, in his new persona of Batman, must face a powerful crime-lord, and an even-more-powerful, albeit shadowy, figure, plotting to ride the world of Gotham's evils by eliminating Gotham itself.
C. Bale gives us a Bruce Wayne who is glib on the surface, troubled beneath that, and an avenging crusader at his core. The imagery, both real and computer-generated, is awesome and dark, and the musical score enhances ... Read More:

This film surprised me in more ways than one: Rowan Atkinson was much better than in Mr. Bean, for starters. Yet another thing that surprised me was how funny it actually was, I expected something on a par with 'School of Rock' which I have previously reviewed (look for 'school of rocks and pebbles and stuff' if you wish to read it), but it was just in a very different league. For example, 'Johnny English' has plenty of laugh out loud moments, and an ending which is entertaining, not just some big shoot out( the coat scene is pure gold.), so why the four stars?
There are laugh out loud moment, lots, however some jokes are just overused: certain jokes are nearly as familiar as,
"Duck!"
"Where?" Then something hits the hero on the forehead. Wow. How original.
Anyway, ... Read More:

I can scarcely believe that anyone took this movie seriously, principally because of Nicolas Cage's (par-for-the-course) appalling acting.. It is quite pitiful to watch him attempt to present a noble mien as the angelic character, cocking his head on one side; standing on a skyscraper in his long slouch coat, looking with compassion at the teeming millions below; speaking... very... slowly... to indicate that he is troubled by the torment of emotions which we poor humans have to endure. Really he is HYSTERICAL.
What is even worse is his transformation into a 'human' - soulful, puppy-eyed looks at Meg Ryan accompanied by speech of a normal speed, just in case we missed the finer points of his change in characterisation. This movie is a total hoot 'n' a holler and deserves an award for its ... Read More:

One of the best war films ever - puts all the stereotyped heroics into their proper perspective..... most of the time nothing much happens, action-wise that is, ( and it's all the more realistic for that ) , but there is a lot going on psychologically, within the crew, and within ourselves as we watch the voyage unfold - for example, the crew are flawed human beings, and missionic zeal is not approved of........ rather they crave 'action' as a relief from the immense tension and tedium of living with each other for weeks on end..... we quickly identify with them ( some more than others ) almost forgetting that they were 'the other side ' - it's true, we don't want them to sink , we don't seek 'retribution' - so the film has done it's job in 'humanising' the enemy , and in portraying the pointlessness ...
