Dr Indiana Jones has long been known as a serious explorer and scholar by all readers of the National Geographic. His canon of work stands unchallenged by anyone in the world today.
Finally his in-depth documentaries have been collected together, collated, and organised, so we can see his achievements in the field of Anthropology, Archaeology, Primitive Religion and Cultural Raiding, and Driving At Speed Across Dusty Landscapes.
This particular collection has been edited and compiled by a Mr Spielburg (ed. check spelling), who, whilst generally keeping to the facts, makes each documentary slightly too fantastical for serious Archaeologists and Academics to be comfortable with. A better, more level-headed editor may ... Read More:

The superhero movies are really varying in quality. Some truly are excellent (Xmen 1 and 2, Transformers), others have barely anything to tell us (Fantastic 4, Daredevil, etc.).
In my view Iron man clearly falls in the first category. Firstly because Robert Downey Jr doesn't take the role too seriously and has the charisma. Of course the story is not perfect, but it hold together and we all wish there were more action scenes such as the fighter jet battle.
But at the end of the day, the image quality is stunning (a bit too noisy as mentioned in a earlier review) but really demonstrates what bluray is about. I've seen it on a Pioneer 50" plasma and it is nothing short of amazing. The disc interactivity is also nice with HD extras. ... Read More:

Every so often a sequel comes along which is head and shoulders above the original. This proves the case.
Hellboy II is far superior to Hellboy. Better story, acting and far more laughs. Its a comic book story told the way comic book stories should be with action, great graphics, romance and humour. I love the ugly super-hero idea. Hellboy II doesn't disappoint and I bet you that after watching the film you too will be sing Barry Manilow songs.
I can only hope that Hellboy III follows the improving trend.

This film is an excellent black comedy, a total roller coaster of emotion, side splittingly funny one second shocking the next. The characters are likeable bad guys with personal issues.
I'd highly recommend this film to any one who wants a change from a serious action film and just wants to while away some time. Some scenes are very graphic but combined with the humour makes it hard to decide wether to laugh or cry.
If I was to some sum up the film in one word it would have to be 'Random'.

The script for Hancock was based on a much darker concept that circulated Hollywood for a number of years. The production became locked into `development hell' with no studio willing to pluck up the gumption and put it into production, especially with a projected budget of $100+ million, and with the intention for it to star one of mainstream American cinema's most wholesome bankable stars; Will Smith.
At what stage Will Smith joined the production process is unclear. Nevertheless it would have been interesting to have seen that much darker concept, as some of its purported ideas would have made compelling viewing. The original script was entitled `Tonight He Comes', hinting of an unpleasant nature of the central character, and its easy to see why this version ... Read More:

Is this either Jackie Chan's or Jet Li's finest hour? No.
Is it one of the greatest Martial Arts or chop-socky movies ever? No.
The american protagonist is not particularly engaging either. I can't help but at least partially agree with another reviewer that less western and more eastern influence would have helped this movie a lot.
However, for those who have been entertained by both Jackie Chan and Jet Li for many years, this film is still a good tip-of-the-hat. In fact, the first fight between the two is especially good.

I completely diasagree with the first two reviewers as well. I went to see this when it was out in the cinema (small local cinema - who only intended to show it for one night) - the place was sold out and they ended up putting it on for weeks instead.
I thought this movie was very cleverly done, Will Smith portrayed the character very well, and the tongue in cheek approach used here worked very well. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and was frequently laughing out loud.
I didn't know what to expect going to see this but I'm glad I did and think most people will find it very enjoyable.

after the tension created in series 1 and 2, i was hoping a return to the prison escape format would keep it going but this is a step too far. some of the acting by the newer characters is sub-schoolplay level, and has made me seriously consider whether to bother with series 4
