With the two modern entries in the Hulk franchise viewers will largely fall into 3 categories - 1) people who prefer this Ed Norton vehicle to Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk because the latter was "too arty" whereas this is more of an action movie; 2) people who prefer the Ed Norton/Louis Leterrier project because it is closer in style to the 1970s Lou Ferrigno TV series; 3) people who prefer the Ang Lee experiment because it drew its influence more from the paper source material and generally felt like a more-rounded movie.
I fall firmly into the third category, although I came into The Incredible Hulk (2008) without any predefined opinions, simply hoping that it would live up to the first film. I was aware that Marvel had decided to distance ... Read More:

imho, it's the things that other people hated about this film that made me love it:
the acting was believable. i think that i would make a whimpering noise if i suddenly found myself on the ground with a huge monster standing above me.
the dialogue was believable. in real life people generally don't soliloquy like shakespeare, or describe ever innermost emotion, or philosophise or have great one-liners every minute - they usually just talk rubbish, like they do in this film.
the script was believable. it was what you could reasonably expect to happen if a half-kilometer high monster invaded new york.
there IS humour in the film, if you aren't po-faced.

This film has a lot of potential, but fell flat on its face. The cinematography was lovely, but the majority of the characters were shallow and superficial. The character of Vera should have been complex, and it needed a much more experienced and more talented actress to give her justice. Keira Knightley doesn't act, she just says her lines with a silly smirk on her face, giving the audience no insight whatsoever into what she's thinking and feeling, and just left me feeling lost and confused and feeling no sympathy towards her character at all. Dylan Thomas was portrayed to be a horrible and self-centred man and I couldn't understand why both Vera and Caitlin were all over him, while William Killick, the only decent and believable character in the whole ... Firstly, this boxed set comprises the three movies individually cased in standard blu ray cases in a slightly sturdy cardboard sleeve with a nice metallic green effect. That may come as a relief to owners of other boxed DVD sets etc where the cardboard lasts as long as cereal packets. All three movies are presented in letterbox widescreen transfers. Languages present are English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portugese , with Dutch only as subtitles. There is no region B coding marked on either the sleeve or individual cases so they are probably region-free.
The only other thing you really need to know about this trilogy release is that the HD picture and audio transfers are just fantastic. The Matrix has been remastered and is now of equal transfer ... Read More:

Where do I start with this complete mess of a film? Hmmm, well I suppose the first thing to mention is that this is not a Transformers film, at least not at all related to the original cartoon upon which it is meant to be based. Even if you forget that (the writers, producers and director clearly did) the film spends so much time away from the Transformers that it could be a sequel to Independence Day! Why do we need to see douche bag hackers and military personnel scratching their heads over computer screens? This stuff has been done before loads of times, and far better than this. Then we have boring scenes with goofball US soldiers talking about home, etc, all of which carries no plot or even the most simple character based story arc. I've heard that Spielberg ... Read More:

I agree it is not as good as the others, because (as has been mentioned) most of the characters are not as strong as previous seasons.
This storyline also contains the most implausable, ridiculous plotline of all the seasons. 24 has always had plotlines which borderline on unbelievable but we let them off because the show is that good. I think we should also let them off here too because the season is great, however there is just too much "oh come off it!!" about this one storyline that you never really forget how silly this is.
So we have weaker characters (still strong nevertheless) and an unbelievable plot aspect but apart from that we have a classic 24 with terrific episodes and moments you ... Read More:

Thoroughly enjoyed this third in the series. Only wish there was a 4th, 5th and more. Bourne is the underdog with the edge over his pursuers, and they continually underestimate him. Typically. Only film I'd maybe rate this against is US Marshalls, with Tommy Lee Jones and Wesley Snipes, but Bourne is better, by far.

OK where to start on this truly horrific crime of a film?
Jar Jar Binks may actually be the worst character in the history of cinema - all those animators and actors who worked to realise this affront to human decency should find a revolver and do the decent thing.
Why do all American kids have problems talking properly? Do they think that speaking like a cutesy 3 year old makes them endearing? Jake whatshisname (Anakin) should never ever be allowed in front of a camera again.
Who came up with the 'story'? My ship is broken, want to come with us, Kid? Seems to be about it.
Also,Why is it that in 'attack of the clones' Anakin has aged about ten years, but Padme is (amazingly) about 3 years older than she was in TPM surely they should have made Padme ... Read More:
