The series of books on Hornblower is a classic in the sea-adventure-war category. The movies are very well made, with a good cast (perhaps, I see better Crowe (or similar "macho", like Owen) than Gruffud in Horatio's "shoes", but thats' all) good battle and sea scenes and a good "reproduction" of the original books, better than Sharps's series.
A this price is a real bargain. A question: this version has subtitles ??? Soundratcks in foreign languages ?

These are brilliant suspense / shoot 'em up films. Classic stuff, and while the first is the best by a wide margin, they're all worth owning. Great fun.

In 2003 acclaimed art-house director Ang Lee produced the first modern incarnation of Marvel's popular comic-book superhero. This particular version received a critical and commercial drubbing after an initial successful opening weekend box-office worldwide. It was a version that sought to involve a mature audience. It was a very adult, fairly dark and emotionally deep film that summer audiences and critics alike may not have been expecting. Expectation was that it would be a crowd-pleasing blockbuster with the slam-dunk action and adventure more akin to a spiderman movie. However, this expectation may have been misplaced. The Hulk is not a superhero, the hulk is a reflection of the central character's anger and insecurity; Bruce Banner's 'Id' for ... Read More:

If your looking for historical accuracy surrounding tales concerning the myth of Robin Hood and His Merry Men then you will probably be disappointed with this series as there are inaccuracies in both weaponary and costumes(not correct at times for the period being portrayed) This and i cannot stress it enough is not important as the other aspects of the production. The humour is as always enjoyable and there are often one liners made such as Will & Little John after a fight saying "And its goodnight from me & its goodnight from him" Keith Allen as the Sheriff is still superb and so watchable adding a certain twirling of the whiskers. there have been some superb guests appear this season and without giving anything away some serious shocks in the storyline. ... I am a fan of Del Toro's Spanish language films, but had not seen Hellboy, dismissing it as teen-horror-flick nonsense. I hold my hands up and admit it, I was wrong!
I LOVE this film - and so does my 8 year old son. In fact, I've watched it (as I type this) 12 times. And yes, I still love it.
From a parent's point of view, there are a couple of scenes that you need to keep an eye on - when the mask-wearing baddie is laid out on the slab and you get to see what he looks like (yeuk!).
I'd advise watching this seated alongside anyone small. Although there are demonic references, the demons themselves are not much to give your kid nightmares about. TBH If you've seen Indianna Jones and the Crystal Skull, there isn't much here that ... Read More:

I watched The Incredibles with my 4 year old son this afternoon. This was the second attmept at watching it after we had to switch it off some months before because the film became too intense for him. He wanted to watch it again ("All the way through this time!") and so we settled down, turned down the lights and amped up the 5.1 surround sound.
The first ten minutes had me laughing at Mr Incredible's attempts to do his duty as a superhero whilst aiming to attend what is obviously a very important function on time.
This sequence is hectic, exciting and fun. The film then slows down somewhat, and I thought my son might begin to fidget and become bored, but he didn't and the film soon livened up again.
Some later sequences are genuinely suspenseful and filled ... Read More:

...this is a fine set, you get Hang 'Em High in addition to the traditional 3 film set, usually refered to as the man with no name films, although he does have names, Joe, Manco and Blondie (nickname?) if I remember correctly.
I'm only writing this review as I think the one star is unfair as loads of boxsets are repacked from other sets.

So where do i begin?
First things first; the movie itself is something remarkable and shows one of will smith's greatest and probably best performance he's done. From my opinion, if it weren't for him the movie would of probably been a bit rubbish.
When i first saw the film; i must admit, i didn't think much of it but when i watched it again, i was completely blown away. The way they captured the loneliness and sadness of Robert Neville's life is just incredible. When buying the film, just don't expect much of a blockbuster because this is not. Look at the film as how it was supposed to be... ...a one man show.
Now your probably wondering why i only gave it four stars. This is simply because the DVD was a big huge let down for me and also for fans of the film. For ... Read More:

In my review for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace I wrote how the light and bright Phantom reflected the time in which it was released. 1999 was the dawn of the new Millennium and hope and freshness abounded during what was something of a short golden age for Western Society. If The Phantom Menace was a movie for its time, then 2005's dark and desperate Revenge of the Sith was also a movie of its time and for today. As the world stands on the edge of global despression and we continue with uncertain wars and the face the prospect of ever more sophisticated and outrageous terrorism many of us are feeling a sense of despair - Revenge of the Sith reflects that sense of despair and unease really quite profoundly. This film transends the Star Wars myth and ... Read More:
