We rushed out to buy this for our four and two year old who both love Fireman Sam but wish we hadn't bothered. The great stop-motion animation has gone to be replaced with rubbishy, false movement computer animation. This really doesn't work with all the special effects (tin foil instead of water) gone and it really doesn't work as well. Our children got bored of it quite soon and only spent about half the time watching it than the old version. Even worse the characters voices have all gone. John Sparkes was an improvement on John Alderton for Fireman Sams voice but whoever is voicing the new Fireman Sam sounds like a twenty year old. He's lost all his gravitas and listen to me because I know what I'm talking about sound. Station Officer Steele ... Read More:

When Englishmen come to her land in search of gold, Pocahontas finds love in the arms of John Smith.
This Oscar winning romantic drama from Walt Disney is one of the warmest and adult themed animations in the genre, and has a heart warming story and some beautifully crafted songs.
The narrative centres around the beautiful independent Pocahontas, who we first see diving off a hill into a gorgeous river, and viewers are instantly thrust into her life as we see what's on her mind. Pocahontas is a great central character to have, as she embodies a very strong woman with her own mind. Her thoughts and feelings are well executed and are inspirational to women of all ages and is one of the strongest Disney characters ever created, ... Read More:

I personally love the shrek films and was excited to hear there was a third one coming out. Although when i first watched it i got bored quickly and lost interest but after watching it again i seem to like it more and more. It has plenty of humour and you may not like a character but sometimes you have to look past that. For those who are dragging it through the mud...give it a second chance

What is so exquisite about Sleeping Beauty is that it looks like a medieval tapestry coming to life. If you look closely at the details in the backgrounds you can see little twists in the leaves and curves in the tree bark which overall gives an ornate and opulent look still refreshing to this day. It was the most expensive film in it's day, it took over four years to make and Walt Disney stated to his artists and animators that they should take their time over it, make it beautiful and so it came as a shock when it didn't do all that well in the cinemas. It wasn't really able to communicate to an american youth who were smoking things they shouldn't and it seemed this highly romantic film was too idealistic in it's portrayal of young love, it felt as if it should ... Joy of joys! Tinkerbell is a 5-star film with jingle-bells on. It's simply magical, and anyone in your household will fall in love with its sparkly, fairy-dusted prettiness.
Peter Pan (the Special Edition, no less) is vintage Disney at its best. In some ways, modern Disney can't quite rival the old stuff, and it's the 1953 film that cemented Tink as Disney's biggest star (for a while there, she was receiving more fan mail than all the other Disney characters *combined*) and created the iconic vision of her in short, green dress and flicky blonde fringe.
The slightly mercenary bit: as I write, Tinkerbell DVD is £11.98 (and, seriously, worth every single penny) and Peter Pan is £7.98 (in and of itself excellent value) totalling £19.96; the ... Read More:

This is one of the best films I've seen in ages - funny, touching and close to the book. It leaps from past to present, story to real life easily and effectively, and ties up Kissin' Kate Barlow, Madame Zerone and the Warden well, mixing up the stories as seamlessly as the book does. It is a beautiful adaption of the book - the screenplay was written by Louis Sachar himself, which means that it's been done exactly as he meant it to be. Writing is making a film in your head, and this is exactly the kind of film he was writing.

I used to watch this film many moons ago when i was younger, and ive since rediscovered it, only to find that this film is as good as, if not better than i remembered it! The setting is beautiful and the Yorkshire dales give the film a wonderful sense of mood too. The acting is brilliant. Maggie Smith is class all the way as Mrs Medlock, and John Lynch is a surprisingly good choice as Lord Craven. The children too are brilliant here - most notably Andrew Knott as Dickon, and there is an utterly charming romantic attraction theme between his character and that of Mary Lennox which runs through the film! <3
All in all, a wonderful film that is sweet and innocent, just like every childhood should be :)
The film at the cinema was good, but rushed. The pacing was poor...they tried very hard to cram in as much as possible and you could tell. I am now waiting for the real extended version...NOT this one! Other reviewers have been good enough to point this out. If you've not seen the film yet, wait for the (hopefully) much longer version: the pacing is sure to be very much better which should make for a much more enjoyable experience all round.
