With a central performance by Alistair Sim that is nothing short of brilliant this movie deserved to be restored to its original condition for DVD but wasn't. I have not seen any prior reviews that commented on the crappy quality of this print but crappy it is, sadly.
Cut to fit the TV screen, it is a poor quality print. No subtitles. No closing credits. A lack of sharpness and definition to the picture and sound. The "extras" are not worth bothering with. Disappointing is what it is. Kathleen Harrison is superb as is the supporting cast of British film luminaries. They and Alistair deserved better. Cheap and looks it. Bah! Humbug!! >>More Details |

My 2 year old was given these recently for her 2nd birthday. She is a big Charlie and Lola fan already along with her older brother who is 4. We had lots of episodes recorded that they can't seem get enough of so they were thrilled with this set even if it were just the episodes. What they really both love as well though are the extras. Each DVD has one song "Bestest in the Barn" or "Bat Cat" etc and then a couple of funny outtakes which are recordings of the kids doing the recordings saying funny things.
They are both loving the feature length Christmas episode as well which is a lovely one and we haven't seen it for a long time on CBeebies. All in all a very good present - i think we will be putting the first series on our christmas wish ... Read More: >>More Details |

After hearing that Disney was going to release a third Little Mermaid I was partially excited but also was rather sceptical about whether it was going to be as poor as the second one.
The trailer for the movie was rather disappointing and did not do justice to the actual movie. Now after purchasing the film I would strongly recommend the film. With original new songs and an amazing storyling Ariel's Beginning is a welcome addition. And as Sebastian says there really is more to this story than meets the eye. >>More Details |

This is a depressing and miserable movie right up to the point where the Daddy gets shot and killed by a bank robber. At this point my 7 year old got up and walked out of the room saying "I dont like this film, I dont feel safe now". No matter what the end message is, why did Disney think that guns are OK in a Christmas movie for children? Only in America, eh.

I assumed that 'Atantis Squarepantis' was a feature film not another episode. But this dvd contains other episodes that my children have seen before. They won't be disapointed but I am.
