Great animation, characterization, sound, and imagery rule in "101 Dalmations." It's action, excitement and love, but with a dark theme that's a bit scary.

Having been subjected to the whole 8 series keeping the little ones occupied I was curious to see how this would work with a new voice and clearly american take on the tales.
Well the addition of Pierce Brosnan's voice as the narrator is a great choice and the story and songs kept my 23 month old captivated and happy for several hours. The songs are a change and he jiggles around to them with glee. The extras keep him entertained as well. This makes a great gift to any thomas fan. >>More Details |

Out of all the of the christmas films that I have seen over the years, this is the one that stands head and shoulders above the rest! Ok, the acting of the little lad that plays Joe leaves something to be desired, but if you put this aside and just watch the film for shear enjoyment and getting in that festive mood, then you too will get wrapped up in that magic tingly feelling that this film evokes.
I remember watching this film as a little girl and I still get the same feeling it gave when I was about 10. I have now bought it for my 2 year old and he justs loves it - its a fantastic way to introduce children to the magic of Santa, elves, reindeer and the magic of christmas if you just believe. This is simply the best Blu Ray I have ever seen! Better that Wall E in terms of the scintillating images, colour, and detail! If you have anything like a decent Hi Def set up, this is a must demo and 'show off' disc. The film is good too, and extrtemely enjoyable, funny, full of action, and engaging! You can't go wrong with this movie, especially if you have kids! These animated blockbusters really do get better all of the time, Cars, Ratatouille, Happy Feet, Wall E, Shrek etc. and this is surely the best looking one yet! Ok, I am an adult, and we have no kids, but I suspect like many of us over 25, I do have a soft spot for these films, which really do make the best of your expensive equipment. I was looking forward to this movie, this was one of the iconic books from my childhood. I have to say that I very much enjoyed it, however maybe not as much as the first film. The filming was excellent, with beautiful backdrops and surroundings, very good CGI and good acting. It's been so long since I read the books however, that I can't remember if this was faithful to the original though... will have to re-read them I think! The things that let it down for me were the comedy elements, the mouse-knights and alike fitted very much with a Disney film, however I thought that they were not necessary, and detracted from the story. I ordered this for my daughter for Christmas.Shes a huge Peppa fan, and thought she would be really happy to receive it on Christmas morning.However on arrival, I checked the episode listing and thought I'd check out the Christmas episode.I was really disappointed to find its the SAME Christmas episode as on Peppa's Christmas dvd!!!What a swizz!!I would have thought they might have at least included a new episode for the festive season . All the other episodes have been shown to death on Nick JR and I have to be honest I feel really short changed.I could'nt send it back because I had opened the sellophane packaging so I guess it will be sold on e bay sometime soon.Please be aware there is no new material on this disc, so unless your child is new to Peppa, AVOID!!!!!!!!!

I am not usually a fan of animations but watched this for review purposes for a website. It is absolutely fantastic. Beautifully animated, perfectly cast and hilarious and touching in equal measure, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I watched this film as a child, then as an adult, and it always amazes me. Another truly heart warming Christmas film! Richard Attenborough portrays a wonderful Santa Claus, with his remarkable acting skills! It does not matter what age you are with this movie, old or young, it will warm your heart at Christmas time, with a few laughs along the way.
