We watch four middle aged men enter a down-at-heal office. They take seats around a table. Thay say nothing. One at the end coughs and asks "Shall we begin?" One to the side huffs audibly and then the opening credits rolls.
How brave a start is that? Who would start a major TV serial like that these days? Ive seen "Tinker Tailor..." five times now and look forward to watching it a again. If there was a fire and I could run to save just one DVD this would be the one. >>More Details |

Firstly, this boxed set comprises the three movies individually cased in standard blu ray cases in a slightly sturdy cardboard sleeve with a nice metallic green effect. That may come as a relief to owners of other boxed DVD sets etc where the cardboard lasts as long as cereal packets. All three movies are presented in letterbox widescreen transfers. Languages present are English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portugese , with Dutch only as subtitles. There is no region B coding marked on either the sleeve or individual cases so they are probably region-free.

Another great British film, following the likes of Hot Fuzz and Bridget Jones.
The Bank Job is based on a true event which was covered up by the media. They stole more money in one night then any other criminal could ever imagine. In the film they plan to dig their way into the safety deposit box area of the bank via another shop, then they find some photos which were supposed to be kept secret. As the title says, what more could you ask for, the full complete 24 seasons 1-6 in it's entirety, every episode is packed with explosive action and interesting facts, Life for CTU Agent Jack Bauer is never dull, and hold on tight for the ride of your life, I couldn't of asked for a better Boxset collection, I also love the casing it came in, plus the individual casings for the CD's, I dunno why so many people are complaining about it, Overall if you are a fan of the 24 series then this is a must!, for just over £100 its a bargin considering you'd probably pay double that and more for buying it in a shop, only let down wish there was more features, maybe a full length featurette and outtakes, but overall I am so glad I bought this, it will forever be ... Oh, how I agree with Anna-lena Berg! I really love David Suchet as Hercule Poirot, but the new series is not as good as I expected. Third Girl : David Baker should really be the bad guy - I was totally shocked that they changed the story. The same thing with Appointemnt with Death - very dissapointing. Mrs. MacGuinty is ok and Cat among the pidgeons too.

I thought these episodes were better than most of series 1 and 2, generally more interesting. Exception: The rock star child kidnap episode was truly dreadful.

I have always loved this show from season 1 and the quality of writing is the best among all the BBC TV shows. 24 should take a que from this series and make it's storylines more believable.Rupert-Penry Jones is just an added bonus to this show:-) I just wish each season had 24 episodes....BBC listen!

I would give this 4 1/2 stars if i could.
I agree it is not as good as the others, because (as has been mentioned) most of the characters are not as strong as previous seasons. This storyline also contains the most implausable, ridiculous plotline of all the seasons. 24 has always had plotlines which borderline on unbelievable but we let them off because the show is that good. I think we should also let them off here too because the season is great, however there is just too much "oh come off it!!" about this one storyline that you never really forget how silly this is. So we have weaker characters (still strong nevertheless) and an unbelievable plot aspect but apart from that we have a classic 24 with terrific episodes ... Read More: >>More Details |

Whilst the Writers' Strike left this season feeling a little empty, the quality of the show continues to shine through. The conclusion to the Sara Saga is excellently pulled off and will certainly bring a tear to the eye of the most faithful CSI fan. Some of the episodes are a bit poor - such as the story of the young lad who develops breasts - but these are balanced out by the other episodes.
Shame there's not as many episodes as there normally are but worth the purchase all the same. >>More Details |

I watched this when first broadcast in 1982 and was utterly hooked - it was one of those programmes that was compulsory viewing and much discussed at work the following day. (although I remember Clive James, in his TV reviewer guise at the time, was a bit rude about the fact that it could make a heroine out of Connie, queen of the files.... well, you can't please everybody).
Anyway, the years went by, and then a couple of years ago I accidentally stumbled across this again as it was being repeated on BBC4 or some such ghetto channel.
