There is just one word to describe this movie, stunning. Hollywood just ca't make movies as good as this. I can't believe some people are giving it one star.

A fine DVD of the classic western famous for the witty by-play between Newman and Redford and the luminous photography by the distingushed Conrad Hall, this has some interesting extras, most of all a rarely-seen documentary of the film with fascinating behind the scenes footage, narrated by the director George Roy Hill.PARENTS BE WARNED!! though;Hill comes out with a few choice expletives during his commentary,so it should not be shown to young children. The DVD notes should've made this clearer, but barring this minor quibble it's an excellent all-round package of one of Hollywood's best remembered westerns.

Almost finished series 3. 3 episodes to go but I'm really losing the will to live.
For me they've broken the 1st commandment of entertainment: Dont be boring.
The major plot: Galactica and co are trying to find Earth whilst being chased by the Cylons.
The sub plot: Baltar and No.6
Everything else: Sub-sub plots.
How much time is spent on the major plot line? about 20 mins.
How much time is spent on the sub plot? 10 mins?
About 20 episodes take up the completely boring sub-sub plots. Do we need 3 weeks of Apollo fancies Starbuck? If people want to watch marriage breakdowns and adulterous affairs they can watch Eastenders can't they? I dont watch BSG for that!
Everything that's supposed ... Read More:

One of the stars of Vantage Point-Dennis Quaid - has described the film as a "Kind of Rashomon [1950] [Special Edition]" alluding to the films method of showing the same 23 minute loop of time from several different perspectives. Whoah there Dennis , don't get carried away . Structurally , though he kind of has a point though in terms of quality these two films while not chalk and cheese are definitely wildly varying qualities of cheddar.
Vantage Point takes place at an anti -terrorism summit in Salamanca ,Spain( though most of the film was actually shot in Mexico) where the American President Ashton ( William Hurt) is making a speech. He is shot , a bomb goes off , general chaos ensues as you would expect. We, the audience, then to see events from the differing empirical ... Read More:

To Kill A Mockingbird
Lone fathers and their kids have been a hit in many movies. I have severl examples, like, Ryan and Tatum O'Neil in Paper Moon, Jon Voight and Ricky Schroeder in the re-make of 'The Champ' and Dustin Hoffman and Justin Henry in Kramer vs Kramer. Gregory Peck, won an Academy Award, for playing a sole parent, and he's never been better. The script for this movie was based upon Harper Lee's sensitive and intelligent novel set in racially-torn Alabama. Gregory Peck, plays Atticus Finch, a wise lawyer bravely raising his two kids Jem(Phillip Alford) and Scout(Mary Badham) in the hot-headed Southern town. The crux of the plot is Finch's defence of a colored man accused of rape. The film was put together by two excellent film-makers, producer Alan J. Pakula and ... Read More:

The comparison in quality that one reviewer made on this page between Middlemarch and The Wire might seem far-fetched to anyone yet to see the series. It's not. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't expect ever to see TV of this excellence again. I've certainly never seen anything as good before.
As with others, I envy anyone approaching this work of utter genius for the first time.

The quality of recording is good, the production standard is excellent and Joan Hickson is outstanding as Miss Marple.
How can some people make awful movies when TV can be as good as this?
For all who enjoy the stories of Agatha Cristie, with her imposters, recidivists and Machiavellian murderers, this collection is a delight.

The episode that I keep on revisiting is the first one. It sets the scene so perfectly. Each of the main characters are shown for who they really are.
'Sapranos' is more of a slow burner that it's big screen cinematic cousins, but if you like gangster films such as 'Scarface' or 'Godfather' you will probably love 'Sopranos'.
Tony Soprano is a realistic everyday gangster with all of the usual troubles that beset a hard-working, married businessman. He doesn't have much of the glitz and glamour usually associated with crime, with the exception of his house and expensive wife.
Tony is a proud, strong, alfa-male with a VERY dark side, and a really cheeky sense of humour, but those around him are definitely not as innocent as they as they would like people ... Read More:
