This is a super tale with some real strong acting. I have waited for some time for this to come out on DVD and have not been disappointed.

What age is this extraordinary programme aimed at, I wonder ? Some of the reviews indicate that older children of 5 or 6 love it, as well as pre-schoolers (at which it is aimed) and adults. Ben Bold has his own agenda which made me smile...see his review.
All I can say is that it has a particular quality of excellence that you associate with something of timeless appeal. My 2 year old grandson, his father and mother and I all watch in a state of almost helpless fascination. It is calming, very surreal, mysterious almost zen-like. The Only other successful Re-Imagining of a Classic Show other than this is DOCTOR WHO. But BATTLESTAR GALACTICA has done well as a sci-fi drama kicking the original out of the Galaxy.
A True Representation of Television made good. When I first heard of it i thought "Yet again, They'll screw it up." But the New version grabbed me from the Pre Title on the Miniseries right until the Cliffhanger. starting on the First Season Currently then moving on to seasons 2 & 3 (Already Seen RAZOR - Not a Bad Film). some of the many things this version has over the original is the fact that the Galactica is a ship that was meant to be put in mothballs. A very good movie, its about The Water Horse (The Loch Ness Monster ?) who grows from been very tiny to a huge animal in a very short space of time. Beautifully shot with excellent locations and settings, gives the impression of Scotland during World War II.

i just watched "the dark knight" (tdk) at the cineams and i have to say.............. BEST FILM OF THE WHOLE CENTURY!!!! CHRISTOPHER NOLAN WE SALUTE YOU and as one of the other reviewers have said " this was the way batman was supposed to be.definately.
now moving on to the gotham knight dvd......... i was not impressed by it comparison to tdk!! it does give a little introduction into some of the first few scences of the tdk film and shows us a little as to what batman has been up to between batman begins and tdk. i know that the dvd has six different animated parts made by six different directors... but i wish they would all draw batman THE SAME WAY!! if you watch the first part then you will understand why i am saying this. it really throws ... i watched it by chance on a saturday night on Channel 5 as they were replaying it...
somehow i started to watch it all the time, got addicted to it to the point i had to watch it no matter what Now i own all the 3 season, about to get the 4th... I have never loved a program so much... i love the characters,,they grow on you and there aren't too many of them so you really get to know them well... you'll love them all. This is certainly a budget edition of "Friends" - cheap packaging, double-sided DVDs, almost no extras, some menus are ugly, syndicated cut versions of episodes.
Don't get me wrong - it is not THAT bad (in fact picture quality is quite good) and if you are a casual viewer, this is a decent enough package for you. However if you are a huge fan of the series, you will be better off importing US boxsets. >>More Details |

I am a big fan of Soul, Blues, R'n'B and associated genres and so came to this essentially for the music which is astoundingly good. It would be worth seeing just for the music, but although the story does seem to have been constructed around the opportunity to see and hear legendary artists perform, it is rightly been a cult film due to the slightly oddball nature of the story, the well known set pieces (car chases, nuns and rulers, James Brown's turn as a preacher, Carrie Fisher as a vengeful ex) it is an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.

Yes, it was witty and enjoyable. I am glad that I have added this to my Austen Collection. Loved the photography in Bath. I wasn't so impresed with the acting but overall a good interpretation. Our Jane was quite a racy woman.

Dumbo (1941), Disney's 4th movie, is a film that should be viewed by every child. Touching on subjects important to all children, bullying, parental love and friendship, it is a moving, entertaining and heart-warming story of an elephant, bullied because of his over long ears, who over comes his bullies with the help of his best friend Jeremy the mouse and four, halarious crows to become the most famous elephant ever. The animaton, as always is faultless, at only one hour it isn't as over-indulgent as many of Disney's films and the "pink elephant" sequence is something to be amazed. Definatley one of the best animated films ever.
