After what I felt to be a disappointing third year, `Stargate Atlantis' considerably ups its game with season four. But it's not with particularly clever or imaginative stories that the shows writers and producers manage to bring about this change; it's actually in the areas of character development and action that this season really excels. Events simply move too fast to criticise and before I was even aware- the season had ended and I found myself in eager anticipation of yet another action-packed season.
With the (implied) deaths of inarguably my favourite two characters in season three, I wasn't expecting their replacements to integrate perfectly, or right away into the Atlantis team, but both actors are given such great material ... Read More:

This film was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Original, quirky, violent yet wickedly funny and shows off Bruges quite beautifully.
Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes I knew, but couldn't quite place Brendan Gleeson at first - then it dawned on me - he was Mad-Eye Moody from Harry Potter IV, and then Fleur from the same film turns up as 'the girl'! The casting was quite brilliant; all of the stars turn in great performances, and the plot was fantastic with a superb ending.
I would recommend this film to all grown-ups except perhaps my mother, who will find there's just too much swearing for her sensibilities to cope with. Talking of cursing, you must watch the last of the extras - it's effing hilarious!

Saw this with good friends and totally recommend it to all fans. Ticks all the boxes, lights all the lights, and culminates beautifully in a satisfying conclusion.
The girls (along with their fans) have rightfully moved along in time yet maintain their characters. So you have the perfect combination of the nostalgia value of visiting with old friends together with the freshness of an up-to-date story to sink your emotional teeth into. There is genuine plot tension, drama and tender emotion tempered with plenty of laughs and of course fabulous fashion.
It is very temping as I saw the first 10 episodes already. But I know from experience that the US version is always much completer and full with deleted scenes, bloopers, and much more extras0 And this is very interesting if you are a BSG fan.
And for Lucy Lawless/Xena fans you better can wait for the full US box.
I think for the money/DVD it will be better to wait until the US version comes out.
But ofcourse if you are happy with the flat episodes this dvd box will just do for you.

Quite simply the finest drama I have ever seen, I thought series 3 could not get any better but the writers/cast proved me wrong. If I could give it six stars I would. I have never felt so involved in a series before, my only complaint is I watched it too quickly.

Thought I'd have a quick peep when it dropped on my doormat, ended up watching all six episodes in the same day! Can't wait to watch the second series.
A great series that thankfully doesn't fall into the obvious sit com scenarios that you think it's going to.

This 10 disk set contains the entire first season of the original series of Star Trek. Each episode has been digitally remastered and the some of the effects have been redone using todays technology. This has devided Star Trek fans - some prefer the series as it originally was shown - others prefer it with these new effects. I must admit I think they have done a superb job on creating these new special effects. They have concentrated mainly on the ships and in my opinion this does not spoil your enjoyment. The music has also been rescored and again an excellent job has been done.
Of course no box set is 100% perfect. The packaging is not great and is prone to damage - particually the plactic case. It would have been nice to have slip case packaging with armary ... Read More:

The only reason you should not buy this box set is that it will consume your life. If you have caught an episode on UK TV (although unlikely due to ridiculous late night scheduling) the commercial breaks detract from the fast paced delivery which is a cornerstone of the programme. Be warned, I have found it almost impossible to watch just one episode at a time. The friend who recommended the West Wing to me was given the first series on DVD for Xmas and watched 11 episodes back to back. On Xmas day! With his wife equally enhtralled! His daughter was pretty much left to fend for herself. It really does draw you in like no other programme I have seen. I laughed. I cried. I spent entire days watching nothing but WW. If only the real White house staff were this educated, informed, ... Read More:

Wasn't quite sure what to expect from the remake. Some of the casting is a bit off. Some of the actresses are obviously too old to play schoolgirls like Taylor is better known for playing a 20-something in "2 pints of lager" and Russell Brand is not good enough to play Flash Harry. The plot itself is a bit predictable and silly, but then again so were the original films. Not sure how well the film will translate to an oversea market as there a lot of "British" jokes reference, eg Colin Firth/Mr Darcy. On the plus side, the sound track is used well and in the end it's a good laugh.
