This is what happens when you get a middle aged studio exec who says, "Hey, that L Word gets loads of audience numbers. Let's make a film with those lesbians in!"
Pointless film that fills neither the need to be entertaining nor the need to tell a story nor the need to even have interesting visuals.
I bought this DVD direct from Amazon, because I noticed Amazon sellers were all american region 1 disks. But in spite of the note "Langugage: English" it's not ... it's mostly in French. The DVD itself says there are English subtitles, but there aren't any I've been able to get using three DVD players. Absolutely don't buy this unless you want a film spoken in French without any subtitles.

A great thought-provoking movie, with fine extras that explain the film's style and pedegree.
The 50's style use of rich full colours works well on a big TV screen.
A 50's ideal family is torn apart by two things; the father loses his struggle with repressed homosexuality; the mother gets closer and closer to her black gardener.
It is the latter issue that horrifies small town Connecticut. The couple only discuss the gay issue in very broad indirect terms, and the screen goes almost dark. I suppose that reflects what a taboo subject it was back then.
There are nods here and there to the films of Douglas Sirk and the like. I sensed a comparison to 'Imitation Of Life' as the black housekeeper ... Read More:

It is very, very rare that I regret the fact that I have wasted two hours of my life watching a film. This move ie one of those occasions, though. It is ludicrous in the extreme - a bizarre fantasy-world of exquisitely pretty working class thugs with no redeeming features; it is boring, pointless, negative, and features unnecessary (and stomach-churning) cruelty towards animals. Do not watch this movie. If I could give it negative marks, I would; if I could ask for a refund on my rental plan, I would.

This movie is so boring, it's ridiculous! The plot is so basic, and there's only 6 characters in the whole movie. It tries to be something grand by exploring how religion affects ones choices, especially how one views their sexuality, bla bla bla, and instead it turns out to be one big boring drama, that's so simplistic and un-interesting, it's gonna put you to sleep! But if you don't believe me, go ahead and buy it!!!!

I LOVED the strong start to the season (although didn't love the annoyingly catchy and overlong new theme song!) I was totally gripped by the first four or five episodes, then hated new character Helena and became annoyed by Tina and bored by the too-frequent 'weird Jenny' inerludes. (Did like the Sandra Berhard and Gloria Steinem cameos, though - but Arianna Huffington's was a bit embarrassing...)
Alice & Dana's relationship was the best thing about the series, and they both acted it wonderfully. The season ended well, but floundered a bit in the middle. 4 stars for effort, though.

After watching this film, I have absolutely no idea what the point was!
Heather graham plays a girl (Gray) who's best friend is her brother - they live together, they go out together etc. After they are mistaken for a couple, they decide that it is time they found a girlfriend/ boyfriend for each other.
Gray meets a girl called Charlie, who she thinks is perfect for her brother, so introduces them, and within 24 hours they are engaged!
They set the date for the wedding for 2 weeks time, and off they go to get married.
Gray and Charlie have a sort of hen night together the night before the wedding, and share a drunken kiss.
Gray is confused and thinks that she might be gay, but the wedding goes ahead, and Charlie marries Gray's brother. ... Read More:
