If your gay or a lesbian - this show is fantastic - I have all 5 seasons and I watch them over and over again. I absolutely love it - Brian is so hot and I love his character....Absolutely brilliant....the stories are realistic and keep you interested from start to finish....What more can I say - If you haven't seen it - You are missing the best gay/lesbian show available.....The L Word is great, but not as realistic as this.....

I enjoyed this so much and it made me laugh and feel good too! Christoph Ohrt reminds me of 'Big' in Sex and the City - but maybe a bit younger version! The characters are all interesting and it kept me gripped throughout as to what would happen next. The 'straight' hero has some really touching moments with gay Edgar and the overall feel is very positive. There are clear emotional feelings between the two and that's portrayed very well - not the usual 'humour' whenever these things happen in these sorts of films to cover embarassment etc. and that the 'straight' guy can't deal with the other side of himself without joking it away. I loved this film and definitely recommend it.

The story is a familiar one ...yet told in such an UNconventional manner .There are many moments which are pure bliss . How well the emotions are conveyed to the spectator through the use of beautiful images , color ,many close ups and the camera moving along with the caracters which give a sense of intimacy .One feels for the characters ,one isnt just a distant spectator ,Longing ,love ,rejection.solitude, togetherness.Perhaps some 15 to 20 minutes too long ...but thats the directors artistic freedom ! Dialogs are few but ,perhaps unecessary when gestures or just a gaze can be as comunicative . The MUSIC for fans of this film ...include Volovan ,Ely Guerra and legendary romantic mexican Jose Jose .

Anyone wanting a interesting, well acted film - this isn't for you.
Anyone wanting a film with porn-like sex - this isn't for you.
This film is embarrassingly bad. I bought the DVD, watched it once and then threw it in the bin - literally. Certainly the worst film I have ever seen.
An absorbing film. Very clever and unusually depicted story-telling. It wasn't obvious what the great drama was going to turn out to be and I was guessing who was who for quite some time. Surreal and very well acted drama which you can see was a stage play originally. The acting and lines are straight from the theatre. And of course the actors are playing out a drama "on stage" themselves. The "play within a play" has the tone, style and plot of classic tragedy - in a highly unusual setting - but then classic tragedy often has been so. Very well acted by all. This is real artistic fusion of cinema and theatre.

I originally saw this film in a small arthouse cinema with just 3 or 4 other people there. I have long been a fan of Weber's work (and not just the A&F commercial stuff) Nothing could have prepared me for how moving this film is - this is more a diary of thoughts through images than a film. I have waited for this film for so long - it is and always will be my favourite film. On seeing the film, I have also managed to track down archive material from France Faye and would recommend lovers of Chop Suey to hunt down Faye playing a madam in the Louis Malle film Pretty Baby.

This is one of my favorite films and I wish it would be released on DVD. It was based on the stage play of the same name by Mart Crowley, with many of the same cast. All the action takes place in a New York City townhouse in 1968, where a group of gay friends holds a birthday party. Most of it consists of extremely clever and often hilarious dialog, until the last segment when they're all quite drunk and become morose - similar to the structure of another of my favorite plays/films "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" by Edward Albee.
A warning about the photo on the tape box pictured here: it's not the original - see amazon.com for the USA release, which is the photo on the one I own. The guy pictured here probably wasn't even the actor in the film, and the ... Read More:

If I hadn't have already given up trying to watch another "odd" movie, then this would have ended up not being watched as well. Very dry, always waiting for it to get better - it didn't! Some of the plot is not very well explained and some of the acting is quite "wooden" and stilted. The ending is very sudden and you'll never know the outcome of the events in the film. You'd be better off watching Imagine Me And You [2006], Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit [1990]which is fab, or Sugar Rush Series 1 And 2 [2005]

This little gem may be the best news out of Israel in years. There are no politics and no axe to grind. Eytan Fox has simply given us a powerful, bittersweet love story between two soldiers in a remote outpost. It could be anywhere, in any army, at any time. It just happens to be now, and in Israel.
With great mastery, Mr. Fox has put together an ensemble of diverse characters which are real, funny, and human. Exceptional are Ohad Knoller as Yossi, commander of the unit, and Israeli heart-throb Yehuda Levi (no wonder) as Lior, his lover. They prove that opposites attract: Yossi is career army who has stepped out of character to love Lior, but he is afraid of discovery and reluctant to declare his love; Lior, nicknamed Jagger because of his extraordinary rock star looks ... Well shot and edited - with a great location and a good-looking cast. Needless to say, there's a lot of flesh on show, but I was surprised at how far this one goes, given it's an 18-rated release. Well worth seeing for the 'climactic' orgy scene alone...
