'I Dreamt Under the Water' (French, with English subtitles) is a sombre portrayal of human misery in a contemporary inner city environment. Antonin (apparently a university drop-out, though the actor is mid-30s), lives with his mother, who is still reeling from an unpleasant divorce, in a situation of some poverty. He plays guitar in a band, and has an unrequited crush on the band leader, and his best friend, Alex. When Alex dies of a heroin overdose, Antonin is stricken over his loss, and spirals into an underbelly of Parisian life of drugs and anonymous sex. He meets a woman, Juliette, and has a second-chance to save the life of someone he loves.
The dark lighting, underground clubs and grimy alleyways all serve to complement ... Read More:

I thought this is just another romantic comedy with a bit of lesbian twist. Well, I am wrong. It's not that funny, I think I only laugh once, and I don't understand what is all the singing and dancing about. I do have one good thing to say about this film, it's slightly better than the first film "The Other Side of the Bed".

You might recognise the dishy Alex Dimitriades from TV's 'Heartbreak High' - he gives a superb performance here as a clubbing-obsessed hunk who can't come out of the closet yet cannot resist the temptations in raunchy nightclubs. The soundtrack is bombastic and the supporting cast, most notably his doting mother and wild child sister, give excellent performances. Whil being a heady cocktail of sex and drugs, the film also has a heart and brain, and will linger with you long after the credits roll.

This series is a whole lot better than the previous series. After watching the first series i didnt know wheather to bother watching the second series as i thought it would all be the same. I WAS WRONG! its very different.. theres alot more atmosphere, more faces and not so gloomey as the first series. Yet again Kims dad comes back with even more great acting, Everybody looks more healthy and outgoing.. its great and i am glad that i have watched it. best out of both series.
one thing though is why is it rated 18+ it doesntseem to be that XXX i would personally give it a 15. DO buy this is not to miss.

This is a quite touching film about relationships, lost love, lust and obsession. The story line is a little thin at times, especially when he "bumps" into his hero and object of lust on a lonely mountain top. Some scenes are left unexplained and you have to make up your own story. The ending is strange. However. all in all a quite beautiful film, well shot and directed.

the type of seduction in question is part of the myth that any "hetrosexual" female hasn't met the "right woman" yet.
to put it another way ,in this film two young women fall into bed with other women at the drop of a hat?
other than the above this is a watchable rom-com ,i would not normally watch this type of film ,this however is a wet afternoon film ,better than most of it's type.

I'd never heard of this so i was amazed when I watched it and loved it. I noticed distinct similarities to the brilliant and humourous 'withnail and i' and this is one of the things that kept me gripped to the film!!There was a weak, humorous storyline mixed with grief and non acceptance revolving around the two lead characters as they grapple with fame. Really great film.

Corolo's latest DVD continues in the 'chav porn' vein with a series of vignettes about streetwise straight boys persuaded to dabble with gay sex. It's got an attractive cast and it's well shot and edited. The 10 lads all look like they're having the time of their lives - Tommy Haine in particular plays his part with gusto, clearly relishing every second. If trainers, trackie bottoms and gold chains are your thing, this one's highly recommended.

Perhaps what the Ang Lee's movie should be praised for is its tone. The intimate plot overwhelms the immense scenery. A metaphor for what you should do in life: Don't let opportunities pass you by. No matter what, love rules our lives and our decisions. Jack Twist knew what he wanted and never got it. Enis del Mar, wasn't sure and lost it forever. The supposedly undertone works marvelously since all the inner feelings are for the audience to feel. We don't see tear jerking scenes (so easily there could be a "throwing of the ashes" scene over Brokeback... but, fortunately, it never happens) but all the sensitiveness is contained within the silences. Never before what isn't said is more important that what is told. It's a movie that will haunt you for a long time. But ... Read More:
