I really struggled to get to the end of this, its completely pointless.
Another one to add to the awful lesbian film genre-don't waste your time and money on it. Almost as bad as Cynara.

Todd is very much the essence of metrosexual. He takes pride in his appearance, worries about hair loss and takes longer in the shower than his ex wife. His layabout brother Barry places a lonely hearts advert for him in the 'men seeking men' category. After a few emails and no photo exchange Todd goes on his date to meet Kelly. Kelly of course is a hunky guy and as soon as they can both laugh about it, they decide to pay the brother back by pretending that the date went really well and Todd has discovered his inner gay.
This leads to a snowball effect of friends, family and coworkers all believing (a bit too easily for Todd's liking) that he is actually gay. No-one wants to listen when he says it was a joke, and as his friendship with ... Read More:

Without a doubt, Lauren Ambrose (Florence 'Chicklet' Forrest) is the star of this production, formerly of 'Six Feet Under'. Her multiple personalities (you'll never guess why) are hilariously portrayed. She is supported by a surprisingly well known cast: Thomas Gibson (Greg from 'Dharma & Greg'; Nicholas Brandon from 'Buffy'; Kimberley Davies from 'Neighbours'; Beth Broderick from 'Sabrina the teenage witch' and Amy Adams and Matt Kesslar from various productions).
The plot is a little thin, but is borne out well. There are sufficient one-liners and underlying motifs to make this an enjoyable viewing. I'm not convinced about the detective (Charles Busch), but am happy to presume it's a cult thing.
I don't think that I would have many positive things to say about this film if it wasn't for Leisha Hailey's outstanding performance (Despite her being made to suffer with a terrible, undeserving script). I did question why such an extraordinary actress was thrown into this melodrama, perhaps to promote her band "The Murmurs" and star in bigger projects such as "The L Word"? Either way, the film seriously does not flatter Hailey's brilliance as an actress.
As for most of the rest of the film, I found utterly pointless. There is absolutely no doubt that director Alex Sichel is forcing the "drugs and drink are bad" message onto the audience, unlike more balanced films such as "Thirteen" or "Sweet Sixteen". Perhaps the most accurate portrayal ... Read More:

Funny how two people viewing the same film can have two completely different opinions. 'Love in Thoughts' (dumb title for a dumb film)seemed to me vacuous, pointless and incredibly dull. The story is thin and the predictable ending a long, long time coming. The leads are cyphers not characters, much of the dialogue is crass or portentious and the attractive cast do little more than pout, glower or stare moodily into the middle-distance - it would've taken a River Phoenix to make anything out of this leaden nonsense. The shooting style is arty/pretentious and the pace is the wrong side of slow, not helped by the occasional use of slow motion for no obvious reason - as if the film weren't slow enough! You'd be more challanged, absorbed and entertained watching ... Read More:

Don't be deceived by the blurb, because this isn't a 'nice' gay film at all.
On the surface it appears frothy, but underneath it's a sleazy film of betrayal, deceit, and a mans lost love that he'll never get back.
It has it's funny moments, most of which you'll have seen on the trailer, but the rest is a gritty, rather sad little down-beat film that'll appeal to those who like it 'real'.
There is not much need to explain what a terrible waste of time this movie is... it is disappointing that Alexis Arquette is now reduced to starring in low budget softcore porn!
Avoid this at all cost!!! The acting is lame, the script pointless, the filming amateur!!!
