i first saw this film on tv (well the last halfhour)and decided i had to see it from the begining it is very well acted by all.The story is about two friends who run a boarding school then a little girl spreads a nasty rumour that the women are lesbians and the parents remove the children from the school as their world falls apart one of the women realises her true feelings for the other this ends up a sad but thought provoking story. This is well worth seeing especially for maclaine's portrail of martha.

15 year old Alex (Inés Efron) was born intersex; she resembles a female (and takes hormones to enhance this), but has male genitals. As she has grown older, her parents moved her from her home in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to an isolated fishing village on the coast of Uruguay, to avoid the questions of friends and relatives. Her mother is desperate for her to become wholly female, and invites a plastic surgeon (along with his wife and son) to their village to discuss surgical options. The son, Alvaro (Martin Piroyansky), is questioning his own sexuality...which becomes all the more confused as he and Alex grow attracted to one another.

XXY (Spanish, English subtitles) deals with age-old themes (social stigma, parental conflict, societal ... Read More:

A truly astonishing film from David Lynch. This film is in two distinct parts, it is the 'understanding' of these parts that will help in following the narrative. This is just my opinion and many will argue that the film is not supposed to be understood in any one particular way. I feel the first part is a dream/fantasy world created by Naomi Watts, when she appears later in the film, in the second chapter, this is her life in 'reality'. I could go on a lot more about this but there are many other elements to Mulholland Drive.
The main male actor (Justin Theroux) is a film director trying to cast his new project. But he is under pressure from the studios, portrayed as mafia-type gangsters, who want him to cast a particular girl in the main role. ... Read More:

I cant speak highly enough of this film. Everett and Firth bounce off each other with effortless charm and Rupert's dry sarcasm mixed with Firth's competent reassurance do everything possible to make this a jewel of a film, two fantastic actors and a great and stifling story of repressed homosexuality.

I just love this film. It is simply beautifully acted. The tension and the sparks of chemistry are real. It is, as if I am watching the plot unraveled right in front of my eyes "Live!".
Truly marvellous actings from everyone. You will feel at times, you will have a hate and love relationship with all the characters but that's because they're flawed(we're human after all), but it is really a must see film. Go. Get this if you have the time to really enjoy this film from the start to the end without much interruptions. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as i do.

The problem I have with a lot of gay/lesbian films is that they are often low budget, dodgy comedies or unrealistic (with a few notable exceptions, of course) - when I say 'unrealistic', I mean that I find it hard to relate to any of the characters. However, even though (thankfully) I don't have any personal experience or true grasp of the persecution that these characters in this film risked facing, I found that I really understood why they do/did what they did and got very caught up in the whole story.

Aimee & Jaguar really captures the horrors and dangers of living in Berlin whilst under the Nazi rule, even though you never really see any concentration camps or even any really graphic violence... But you get a real sense of the tensions in ... Read More:

It took a while for me to get into the characters in this - it seemed a bit unfocussed to begin with but as the wedding looms and the characters get together and start getting mixed up with each other the film became really enjoyable and there were a lot of laugh-out-loud scenes and lines. I thought it was going to be a disappointing film but by the end was really enjoying it and loved the ending.

The first 2 minutes of watching this gets you totally hooked and you imediately start laughing at the clever humour.
After watching a few episodes you get to know the characters really well and want to keep watching to find out what happens to them.
The kind of tv you don't have to concentrate on and buying a boxset is much better than having to wait a week for the next part to come on tv.
This is the best tv show in the world!
